There, I fixed up my avatar. It got to big so I had to take one of the CD covers off, so I chose to take off the Delirium Trigger (EP).

It was too big? Thats odd. My PTW one wasn't too big and it had more stuff than yours :-/
More than 7 slides? I think just because I had so many pictures in it. Oh well.

Yeah, it may be because you have some extra stuff in there, mine was too big at first but I went through all the slides and noticed I had tons of extra colour square thingys. I cleaned it up and had like 2 of the 20 left for space.

It has been done before coheed... I change my mind all the time, was in a ska band 2 months ago and i'm still in a local indie band, so meh, it wouldn't end up sounding much like them at all. Some people really need to chill out with the coheed-obsessed thing.
If you're trying to make a band with many of their characteristics, then I'd say you're the one who needs to "chill out with the coheed-obsessed thing."

Jarring people.
I learning the Welcome Home solo. It's pretty tight.
That sh*ts so hard to play. When I have the time, I'm gonna try to learn it too. I know how to play almost all lead on Lying Lies And Dirty Secrets Of Miss Erica Court.
But you know what a fun song to play is?
Crossing The Frame. So is Ten Speed.
Yeah, Crossing The Frame has some great fun riffs.

Out of GA, I've only learned Welcome Home and Always and Never. I haven't had much time to learn the others yet. I've got the tabs though.

Oh, and I can play most of The Final Cut. Haven't looked at the solo yet.

I use powertabs. It's pretty good. You can actually play the tabs and it's free. You need a download, but it's not too big. About half an hour with dial-up.

i do :cool:Me too. It's pretty awesome.
I tabbed out like the first 4 minutes of the Crowing on drums. It's fun to play.

Yeah, I use PT also. It's a fantastic program and a lot of the tabs are almost 100% accurate, especially the Coheed tabs... except for one specific Junesong Provision tabs... it's horrid.
And I also use Guitar Pro. It's very similar in ways, except you can also do drum with GP, which is also a handy thing. However, there aren't as many people using GP as there are people using PT, so the options are more limited. But sometimes if you can't find a Powertab file of a song you're looking for, you might find a Guitar Pro file of it. Not often, but sometimes.
They already have PT files for I think all of Good Apollo.

The brand escapes my mind right now but I played on one when I was at guitar center last time and they are pretty nice acoustics. Amazing in so many ways. They haven't had one bad album, including the Shabutie years. IKSOSE:3 is suckage compared to the rest of their stuff, but it's still a good album. The first three tracks are so perfectly put together, on Good Apollo. Willing Well I: Fuel For the Feeding End is my favorite Coheed track. Good Apollo and Second Stage are probably in my top ten albums list.

What do you'll think Coheed is going to do after they finish making their story albums?
DepthsOfDreams555
11-11-2005, 03:05 PM
It was in the AP magazine interview. Claudio says that they have two more albums to go and if the band wants to quit then they will quit but if they feel like playing more music then he has a story already kind of planned out that will feed right off of the Coheed and Cambria storyline.
Either make another story, or split up. Although after that amount of time together, I honestly can't see them splitting.

so its a sequel,eh,i hope it doenst suck lost most sequels do
Haha, I can imagine that, the story is really crappy and all their fans revolt and get them to play their older stuff at gigs.
DepthsOfDreams555
11-11-2005, 03:20 PM
That would be so stupid. If the music is good it shouldn't effin matter what the storyline brings. It is cool to have it but they are a band not a bunch of authors.
Yeah but I imagine there are Coheed fans who are more addicted to the storyline than the music.
DepthsOfDreams555
11-11-2005, 03:30 PM
Ya I know and that just makes me laugh because they are stupid.
You know what I've been wondering? The albums all are centred around like themes and certain parts of the story, right? So what about the b-sides and stuff? "Elf Tower, New Mexico", "Cassiopeia" and "Nauraushaun"?
DepthsOfDreams555
11-11-2005, 03:51 PM
Ya I know I'm not sure there are explanations for those but I couldn't tell you off the top of my head but I know I have read something about them. Also I was thinking it would be cool on stage if Claudio was like Hehe Shabutie. haha
Haha I bet he did that at their older gigs. Would've been funny to watch.
Yeah, it's annoying sometimes because I listen to the lyrics and think "OK, where does this fit into the story... dammit!" then I get confused and leave it alone.

/Is a nerd that follows the story
-Elf Power-
Elf power was originally supposed to be in place of everything evil. Claudio decided to write a different story in place of Elf Power, and cut it from the CD. He said its a dead storyline, and shouldnt be taken into consideration when trying to figure out the story.
-Cassiopeia-
I dont think this song is part of a story, but a seperate song on its own.
In mythology Cassiopeia was the wife of the ethiopian king of joppa. She promised her daughter to marry perseus (the warrior who killed medusa) and before the ceremony could take place, she had second thoughts. She ordered one of neptunes sons to stop the wedding. He brought an army to the ceremony, and a battle ensued. Using medusas head, perseus won the battle by turning them all to stone. Neptune put cassiopeia into the heavens, but made her sit on a chair on the pole star, so she would have to sit upside down half of the time. Still, the lyrics are vague and dont connect much (seemingly) to the myth.
-Nauraushaun-
All ive learned about this is that Nauraushaun is a town in Rockland county, New York, which is near Nyack (Coheed's hometown). Again....the lyrics dont seem to relate much to the title.

Alright well God is The Writer (The Writing Writer) and The Writer in reality is a human just like me and you and he is writing the story of Coheed and Cambria. This is first introduced in this album and the album is taking you through what happens to The Writer as he seeks to end his story and Claudio as what to do as The Crowing. The Writer actually has taken his story and based what happens in his life on the story that he is writing. Erica Court is The Writers old girlfriend and she cheated on him so Newo I guess cheated on Claudio, but Ambellina represents the good part of love and Claudio loves Ambellina.
During this album The Writer is tryin to end his story because it is causing him to much stress and to help him do this his sub-consience(I can never spell this word) is Ten Speed and he is a bike. Ten Speed says that if The Writer kills Ambellina and takes her out of the story then he will be freed from it and he won't be burdened anymore, but he doesn't want to kill her. Meanwhile on the ship Grail Arbor, Claudio and Jesse land on a Omega and are attacked by The Red Army. Jesse is killed and his I-Robot Chase goes insane or something. Then towards the end The Writer finally enters the world of his story and kills off Ambellina. Then Claudio is like going crazy and then The Writer tells Claudio that he is The Crowing and that he is "Burning Star IV" now I haven't been on Cobalt in a while but I am pretty sure we are not sure exactly what that means. In my opinion all the planets are orbiting around Star IV now because of the seperation of Sector 12 and when Claudio "burns" Star IV he is basically destroying everything but I am not sure.
I just kind of gave you a basic overview there are a lot more details and stuff but go to Hot Topic and buy the Graphic Novel and go to CobaltandCalcium.com to get more on the story. Hope this helped some.

Dredg live: Allright, i just dont like the band
Mewithoutyou: Meh
Blood brothers: Energetic, but again, i just dont like the band
Coheed: Played every song perfect, but only 4 older songs.
Also, Apollo is the name of the sun god in mythology, and the sun is a star. Just something to wrap your mind around.

Ya I think cobert is right because it is all symbolism and metaphors and stuff like that. Also my review on the concert was:
mewithoutYou- Not very good at all, I don't like the band to begin with and they had terrible stage presence
Dredg- They were good they just didn't have very much energy
The Blood Brothers-Tons of energy I am just not to fond of them
Coheed and Cambria- It was amazing they played everything to perfection I did also not like the fact they didn't play much off Second Stage.
I'm supposed to go to their show in December in Chicago with Fall Out Boy and All American Rejects but I am not positive yet.

yeah it wont ruin them. except for the people who start to hate bands once thier on MTv. but they have been consistant with their style and story even with the success of "Favor House" from IKS. i think the band is very modest with what they do so i dont think popularity would make them change thier sound or "sell out".

Other stand out songs in GA:

So i came up with a cheesy interp of 'keeping the blade'. It has the same epic feel of 'The Ring in Return', but is simplified, so it gives a sense of realism that wasnt imposed by the grand scale of TRIR.
I guess thats why it sounds that way. Iunno.

This has probably been asked a lot in the thread so far, but I'm actually quite interested in the story that Coheed have created. Is there anywhere I can read a good interpretation?
Also, is it actually an alright story or is it just silly (ala Queenshryke [sp?]).

It is a sci-fi story just go to CobaltandCalcium.com they have a bunch of interpretations or you can go to the CoheedandCambria.com Message Board. Either one have plenty of stuff. I love Keeping the Blade that is a good idea cob I didn't really pay much attention to The Ring In Return when I first got In Keeping Secrets then I really listened to Keeping the Blade and loved it then I went back and listened to TRIR.

I downloaded the comic too, but i guess I've never read a comic in my life, so its hard for me to understand. But I swear it just complicates things even further.

Ya it does make things more complicated but it eventually leads to better understanding.

This is a good one:

Any time ive ever been on the coheed and cambria sites message boards and anyone asked about the story, they just said 'wait for the comics'. Cobalt and calciums are good, though.

I have the first two comics in Jpg format if anyone is interested in the story and a pretty good read(it helps a lot with understanding the story) they can hit me up on AIM(McCoolajr).
I got the graphic novel yesterday too :). I love the art work.
Do you have the Graphic Novel in Jpg too?

No, I could scan it all in but that would take quite a while considering it's like 120 pages long :/.

Do you know where I can buy the graphic novel? Will I have to go to a comic book store (i.e. specialist store) or can I get it from a major chain store.

Aside from comic book stores, you can find the Graphic Novels at Hot Topic.
Word. I learned Willing Well III last night. Not all that simple to play, but really f*cking fun once you know how to.

Oh, all right. If you ever do though, tell me. I almost had it, but my parents saw the PA Advisory sticker. If my dad hadn't said anything, I would have it already.

Ya still you should still just go get it and like let your parents see it. Its not that bad. My dad read it. Your parents could be like Nazi's though.

Well, I know everything except for the specific notes between the first "Goodnight, tonight, goodbye" and "If then should the come home".
The rest of it I know note for note. That's just a bit more of a difficult part to play, but I bet I'll have it within the next week. :thumb:

I haven't posted in here since the new album's release. I miss the old days when Co & Ca had a dark feel to their music. They are still great, but they don't screate the atmosphere like they used to. TSSTB will always be there best album because of this.
I'm severly dissappointed, since the whole dark feel to them matched with the storyline so well.

Ya that is true but the new stuff matches well with the storyline still.
I agree with SSTB always being their best. I, however, can't find mine :(.
