I really liked the movie. I read the book years ago, and saw this movie (waiting years for it to come out).

It was funny as hell. This is sort of my humor exactly. I mean, if you didn't laugh at the sperm whale, then it obviously isn't your movie.

Escape from New York is classic...

One of the action movies that most to follow were based on, something akin to Die Hard.

Double Bass Jim
07-23-2005, 03:35 AM
Yea if you want a good example just off the top of my head, think of a classic movie like a fistfull of dollars with clint eastwood, that movies whole production cost was about 10 second of film in a modern day geroge lucas CGI fest. Thats when you actually needed good characters, development and story to drive a good movie.

Turn on AMC sometime and watch those old movies, you'll see why they were better then the crap thats out now.

it was on DVD, my friend bought it and we watched it at her house, and i just started crying when he chose to kill her :upset:

it was a good movie though, clint eastwood starred and directed it.

A lot different then what i was expecting, the only real dramatic part was at the end, but its such a change of pace from the rest of the movie......i just started whining, booger snobs were comin out of my nose, i went through a box of kleenex, tears just ran down my face......such a sad ending.

Works for some, not others....
That is another point I was trying to make....If your a guy, and you cry TOO much, like say, you were walking down the street and a kitten got ran over, It may be a bit extreme crying at that, you could chase after the prick that ran the kitten over (but that's a whole different thing)....ANYWAY, What I tried to mean, was that It's Ok, and kind of cute, when a guy cries at something, but not ALL the time, like in Extreme situations, like a dearly beloved pet or family member has died or whatever you find close to your heart....
I've totally contradicted(?) myself, haven't I?....(I didn't mean too!)....

well im not saying its a bad thing to cry, but my town is full of kids who would rather cry to a girl about their friend that moved away 2 years ago, or about arguing with their mom about cleaning their room INSTEAD of actually getting to know the girl.

and on the opposite side of the equation, there's guys i know that think that kicking every kid's *** that are half their size will get them laid, etc.

i just think it's all stupid. oh well.

A cool trick you can do with mozzies: When they bite you, tense that muscle as hard as you can. If you can hold it for long enough, they cant pull their needle out, and so their nerve impulses force them to keep sucking blood (small brain eh), and they just get bigger and bigger, and then they pop!

i havent seen friday night lights, but every other movie ive seen with him features him as a drunk washup. every time.

so tonight was pretty boring. we were at my friends house, then we decided to go to a&w (just south of the town) but we realized there were 6 of us and we couldnt all fit in her car. so we walked for 20-30 minutes and one of my friends went home anyways. well after that, they decided they wanted some tim hortons coffee (just north of the town) so we walked about an hour up there, then back to her house (another half hour) so she could drive us home. how fun, hey? oh well, it was good conversation.

hey jim, i know this should go in the "come here for account changes" but i already asked. if i asked for a name like "sic", would that suffice? or is it just a no? because i don't like my name, but people know me as "sic" anyways. i just dont like the "__6__sic" part. i noticed that you don't give reasons in the "come here" thread, probably mostly because of the amount of requests.

was it the name i wanted, or do i just not deserve a name change?

Yeah, I love women with curves. I mean, Katherine Zeta-Jones....hot ****, she's practically perfect.

Brooke Burke isn't that bad either...I like her more on video than I do in pictures though.

Jessica Alba isn't that bad looking, but there are plenty better.

I can't think of any women on TV that look good to be honest, not modern TV/movies anyway.

I think Jessica Biel is really hott.

Catherine Zeta Jones is too like Seafroggys said.

Meh, I'm thinking about asking for a postcount reset when I hit 10k, but if I am still here in a few years I might want the postcount so I'm confused :-/

hot **** Mariyln Monroe is hot. If I were president I'd **** her (or anybody for that manner).

There's this one hot chic from this old movie, it was a Howard Hughes movie. If you watch The Aviator it was the one where the Censorship board said had too much cleavage (exposed mammaries)
