Hey all, my name is Sam Bredeson (duh),I'm 16 years old, been playing for almost 6 years now, and live in a 1100 person town called Baudette on the Canadian border of Minnesota. I play a Ludwig accent 5 pc. with all Zildjian ZXTs (14" rock hats, 16"/18" rock crashes, 12" splash, 20"rock ride, and 18" china). I use Evans blue hydros on all heads, and Travis Barker sticks (because of the sticks, not who uses them...). Trying to form a rockish band, but that'll have to wait until I get back from band camp (w00t for tomorrow!)

Paramount Carowinds ROCKS! I saw some stupid school of rock thing there, it was cool, but they kept stopping in the middle of the songs. I went to the water park and stopped in the middle of a huge water slide and got in trouble. I rode all the roller coasters like a billion times and I got home and went to bed at 8. I was really tired. Anyone else gone to any theme parks this year?

well i had a s'hitty day at work today. i had to repair greens between groups again (junior tournament), then when that was done, i was supposed to have an hour and a half of un-interrupted work time. well i start contouring the green while i'm repairing it, and of course, it starts to rain. out of nowhere. bright blue sky, and then within 2 minutes it's raining and the wind is blowing right in my face. i'm just about to get away from the rain when i see 4 groups on their way. i can't leave until i fix it, because there's now a big hole in the middle of the green from my unfinished contouring. so there i am, shivering, soaking wet, fixing the green. :upset: i hate my job.

but more on that when i get home. i'm goin out for now.

occasionally it has it's good days. nice quiet days are the best. i'm one of those people who gets gratification by seeing improvement, and by fixing greens, there's alot of visual evidence of improvement. it was a terrible winter for the golf course, and i'm the go-to guy for green repairs.

it pays well, i get free meals/drinks, and i get to choose my hours. it's better than stocking shelves or something else like "convenience-store-like"

Yeah, I think alot of it was just media hype to get bigger ratings and sell batteries and plywood and stuff. It got a little windy for a while and rained moderately, that was about it. I live in Harlingen BTW.

god i hate my work. my dad went in at 6:00 this morning and didn't wake me up because it was "too early", and because there was a shotgun (golf term, everyone starts at the same time on different holes, everyone finishes at the same time) so i wouldn't have been able to do anything.

i was supposed to work 4 days this week, and i worked 1. the first day he forgot that i was working, the third day there was a tournament so i helped out at home and got paid for 2 hours of work, and today he left too early/had shotgun.

hey everyone here i need some help.

after about 2 years, our guitarist has practiced at home about 30 minutes TOTAL without us telling him to. so we told him that he needed to practice, and he took his guitar home for 2 days. we kept telling him and he took it home 1 more day. (in this span of 3 days, he was supposed to learn 2 patterns for a song, and still didn't learn them) he's with his girlfriend every chance he gets, and he only comes to practice with us when she's gone away somewhere.

so we decided to get rid of him, since we've had another guitarist practice with us for the last few months. i volunteered (the other 2 were too scared, it's mostly me who wants him out) to tell him that he's out, but i can't think of a way to say it without him getting really pissed off and thinking that we don't still want to be friends with him.

any suggestions on what to say so he doesnt think its just me kicking him out, and so he doesnt think we hate him?

Just tell him you/the band don't think he's serious enough about music. How long has he been with you guys? If he says he can prove himself, just tell him he has had that much time to do it. Tell him how lame it is that you have to ask him to practice. That is not serious about music.

Or you could just tell him he's out.

he's been in the band with us for almost a year and a half. the only thing he wants to do is to play shows, even though less and less people come to our shows because he doesnt take time to practice, so everything guitar-wise is terrible. he leaves it up to the singer to play lead too.

so far, i've got these main points "(the other guitarist) is better than you already, and he's only been playing for 2 months" "it doesn't matter if you'll practice now, because that'll only be temporary" and "you don't care about making the music any better. we all want something better to play, and it takes you weeks to learn a song we had to strip down so that you could play it."

as you can see, those are pretty harsh statements. i don't want it to come off like that.

^ haha that kind of thing happened to me. my band dropped out of battle of the bands (because of our guitarist) and i guess there was a rumor that i had mono. i came to school the next day and everyone was like "oh, you're ok. did you get treated? how sick were you?" and i didn't know what was going on for almost 2 hours when someone finally told me the rumor was that i had mono. :confused:

so anyways, im bored. so i'll tell you what i did last night. i attempted to go to bed at 12:20 (robert kennedy was boring on the daily show, i couldn't stand listening to him) so i laid in bed listening to my black maria cd (which i found after i thought i lost it 3 months ago) and realized i wasnt tired. i went to my basement and set my drums up in a different spot, so i'm not beind the rest of the band now. i'm now facing them from the side. then i re-arranged my room with my bed in the middle of the room, and an area for me to rock out while i play guitar :lol: , much more convenient. then i watched conan and still couldnt fall asleep. then i played guitar, then i played guitar in the dark (quite tough, takes practice not to have to look at where your hands are. then i laid in bed until i fell asleep at around 4 this morning.

Grab a regular knife from your kitchen. Doesnt have to be sharp. Run the edge over the logo backwards and forwards really quickly, as if your scratching a lotto ticket.

When the logo is gone, it will feel like winning the lottery because your kit will look that much better. ;)

Yeah, Ok, A very small minority of his work, such as the Batman films etc., weren't so good...but come on....'Edward Scissorhands', 'Sleepy Hollow', 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' (Which isn't my FAVOURITE film, but was still not bad), 'Frankenweenie' (Which always makes me cry)....]
The problem created now, In my opinion, is that he remade a classic....and you should NEVER remake a classic - 'Dawn Of The Dead' being a prime example....

Same low gruff voice, same unshaven beaten up look. War hero rouge attitude? Their pretty much IDENTICLE man. The creator of metal gear has stated how big of a fan he was of escape, the plissken character inspired snake as well as the other characters in the game.
