Ah, yes, you'd think with widespread information, there wouldn't be quite as much stupidity... The problem is that people are too gullible and end up believing misinformation as well.

Granted there ARE a lot more well informed people in this day and age, it's just the stupidity that is outright and ridiculous.

Anyone see that news story (US) where the ****ing guy called a McD's and told them he was a cop, nearly (I don't want to say fully, meh) raping this employee there... They all ****ing fell for it, thinking stripping a girl, having her give a guy oral, spanking her bare *** is all standard procedure.

And the girl said some **** about being brought up to do what people say and the like. Hello, if you don't want to give some old guy a blow job, don't. I don't see how anyone could think a cop would randomly call a McDonald's and say "your employee shoplifted! Strip her and spank her for me, would ya?"

It's already taken huge effect in my school.

So..I get on the school bus in the morning, holding a sandwich. A kid in year 7 on the bus says "What is that??!?!"
I say "Well wtf do you think?"
He says "Is it something to do with bread??"
.....It's a fukin sandwich you moronic fuktard!

I got the same thing yesterday when I was having a bowl of custard for school lunch. A kid asks me "What the hell is that your eating?!"
I say "Well i'll let you think about it for a sec. It's yellow, it's a thick textured liquid, and you just had a bowl of it yourself, dumbass!"

He still didn't know what it was. Oh and there are still people at my school that use KaZaA

I know what you mean. Now they have to have "caution, hot liquid" on mcdonalds coffee cups. Its stupid and gets on my nerves

luckly the just passed that law in america so retards cant do that anymore.

at my school its pretty much your eather really smart or retarded with only about 5 that i would concider avarage. theres a kid in one of my classes who as skipped at least 30 days already, and we have only had about 50 total.

I missed 80 days in 8th grade....Than missed 83 days...In 8th grade lmao. They finally figured out I wasnt going to go to school so they put me in a career program where I only go to school for an hour a day :)

HOLY CRAP R:30 KICKS MAJOR ***.

im about an hour in right now and it is amazing. Jim, you MUST get this today.

im noticing the crowd is a lot quiter to almost silent during the songs. plus theres a sweet into video that goes through all their album covers, then a video intro right before they play that stars none other that JERRY STILLER and possibly an apperence of kevin james(you just see the outline, but it looks like a kinda fat guy).

i paused to get a sandwich for lunch and post this. now im off to finish watching disk one.

EDIT:done watching the whole thing. i must say, very amazing. neil's solo was basically the same as in rio, with just a few changes(mainly in the electronics part).

I hate school.
Today went sooooooo slow.
They refuse to turn the thermostat above 35 so I was freezing my pudding pops off, and my hand hurt so bad I could barely write.
It seems like when I can't release my cupcake tension more turkies wear pink flavoured sprinkles so low the tops of their salmon cakes are hanging out and bannana leaves so tight you can make out every little ripple on their price tag.
I just want it to be thursday.

Ok sorry this is gonna totally change the subject but....

I was just wondering how does everybody in here make money to get all these flipping expensive drums, cymbals, sets, etc.

Right now all I can do is get my allowance for doing chores such as mowing the lawn and keeping my room straight (which it never is). And for that I get about $20 a month.

However in highs school I will get $20 a week as a freshman and it will go up $1 a year but eventually I will have to pay for gas.

Anyways I am 13 and just need to know some ways to make some freaking money. I saved up $200 and thought I had a lot, boy was I wrong this stuff is expesive.:upset:

Well since I have no money and have been saving all I have right now all I have for practicing on is two mounted toms mounted to a bass drum with a boken pedal to go with the worst sounding splash cymbal ever And a floor tom. Also a snare which has the snare wire ripped off. So if anyone has any ideas on what i should practice on the three toms which are decent then thanks.

I am getting a pad to practice on soon, and for Christmas I am gonna get a new set. My dad is paying for half.:thumb:

I've been playing electric sets alot more lately and I've been starting to have problems with my right wrist so I'm thinking that might be the cause. ****ING BAND KIDS!!! So, like two days ago I'm in the drum room and 2 of the kids are there with me. I get the metronome and start freestyling on the set, I through a backbeat and and 3 seconds of a jazz swing pattern before this gay trombonist goes "Whats that hand motion?" I tell him that everyones style is different and its easier for me instead of playing it only on top playing in one position. We then have a whole arguement and I agree to do it their way because my music teacher is a duece and thats how he wants me to do it. Then they start telling me things like "Okay play at 40" I play at 40 don't mess up, then the other drummer in the room starts playing a totally different time on a ride cymbal just doing buzz rolls, its a really slow tempo so I get thrown off time. The trombone player goes, your off time I go I know. Then when the drummer stopped playing I move from 60 to 80 and I was swinging there, then he goes okay now do something with your other hand, and my right hand starts swinging around, then he goes, "you see you can't do that while keeping your arm in one spot" but he said it like I'm supposed too. At fast speeds yeah I do it that way because its less motion and I have too, and he goes yeah but do that slow, then he goes at home I slouch when I play my trombone and I don't play like that in school. I tell him that drums are different because there isn't one textbook form, you take the basic form and make it fit you. He says theres one way. Discuss how much of a douce he is.

the one really weird thing was in "animate", they had the first half of the chours, then the verse, the the second half of the chorus, the the second verse, then it was the actual song.

and at the beginning, geddy sounds like hell. almost like he had trouble with the high notes.

yeah, that was me.

it is pretty much the same thing. he added a maramba part during the electric(which was first then the accustic was all one big one because they play "mystic rhythems" prior to it which he does electric) and he switched up the thing with the horns, but the end was exactally the same, even the backround video.

so nothing major, but it was still sweet. the maramba thing he added is crazy.

and another thing i noticed was that his high toms were WAY too high pitched. it was weird to here "spirit of radio" with such an insainly high tom fill

Ok, after the mishap with the German exams, I have an ordinary day. I had to go have a drum lesson today, because I had orchestra rehearsals last Sunday where I would usually study kit. Anyway, my teacher Roger Hempsall gave me a Buddy Rich DVD. :D

Oh and I just got this email:

frickin sweet. im actually watching it now. i watched that song a good 5 times today, now its stuck in my head. i was singing it in my head my entire shift today.

i can tell you one thing though, disk 2 is way longer than an hour ten. the interviews alone are that long(the Juno induction is 20 min, the rest are 10-15) so i only watched them today, i might watch the vault stuff tomorrow, my aunts comming over for thanksgiving and she likes rush as well, so maybe ill watch it with her or something before any football games.

also, im gonna see if my g-ma can translate this big thing that geddy says auf deutsch after subdivisions.

EDIT:geddy has a vending machine next to his dryers and i cant figure out why.

EDIT2:jim, is there anyone you can borrow $20 from? you need to get this asap. i didnt really like it at first, but it really grows on you.

Everyone, I know there are threads about how to do this, but I got my 3005's and I thought about refinishing my old set with a black wrap, and sell it on ebay. I was thinking a dark red stain or something.

Can anyone link me to a thread about this. What I think I know is to take all lugs and stuff off then blowdryer, to melt glue a bit, then take off the wraps. Thats all I want to know for now is do I just take off the lugs and then to get off the wrap do I use a blowdryer or what?

I took the heads and rims off my drums so far, its so exciting lol, the wood is kind of ugly I would say. I think I might do a sparkle finish... Not sure. Because the grain isn't the best I was going to stain it but maybe not.

AHHHH!!! i need to get ahold of myself first.... they sound so much better than anything ive ever played in person. O god. They are...... orgasmic.

I will take pics when tomorrow when i get my cymabls snare etc from my friends house. Then i will have a playable kit! The only thing i didnt like right from the start (without tuning or anything yet) was the sound of the bass drum. Because one, its ****tyily tuned, and 2 its an emad head but the plastic is broken and made a rattley sound when played. Ill replace that and the resonant head. The resonant head will be sweet, some sorta graphic.

4 day weekend. yee haw. next weekend i'm going suit shopping with my friend. don't know why, but i really want a suit. i'm willing to spend up to $150 on a decent suit, we're gonna wear them to school and stuff. it's gonna be pretty sweet.

i came home early today, since the school was having a pep rally 4th block, and i didn't even bother going, since you get in more trouble when you go for attendance and then leave when you get called to the gym.

oh, i decided against the green paint for my drums, i think i'm going to go with a white/black theme for them, since i like the way my snare drum turned out.

and i finally realized that at the airport, there's a shop down the terminal that sells all sorts of cigars. i'm thinking about getting someone to buy me a cuban, maybe something a little cheaper first. should be great.

Well I just racked up about 250 bucks so it's time to buy a ride! I want the Sabian Raw Bell Dry Ride but then I ran across the Zildjian Sweet Ride lol. I dunno what I'm gonna pick.

The raw bell dry ride is awsome but so is the sweet. They are totaly different rides though. I would try them both out side by side and see which on you like more.

Everyone, i'm so excited I have a couple friends who might wana buy my old set but I am in the midst of refinishing it probably going to go with a sparkle wrap. I am almost done getting all of the lugs off and then I have to take off the old dusty crap black wraps.... Does anyone know if you have to cut the holes yourself for putting on a new wrap?? And how much does it cost for enough wrap for a standard 5 piece kit minus the snare.... 12 13 16 22.

I couldnt find any Buddy Rich on bittorrent so I check slsk and theres rackloads of it. I think I almost have a substancial amount of Buddy and Dave Brubeck on my computer now ( around 7 + cds each)

I had it on my computer for like 2 seconds and there was loads of stuff on there I didnt know about untill I cleaned my computer insanely. And I've watched my friends computer get pwned in the butt from limewire. Also it doesnt really do much for me in terms of finding stuff and I hate how disorganized it is. Slsk allows you to get whole albums at a time
