Double Bass Jim
10-20-2005, 01:05 AM
IMO schools more of an "experience education" rather then academic learning at least for me. You learn how to deal with people and situtations thats whats it's all about. As far as learning anything? I didnt learn much at all from school. Learning to deal with people and working with them is what school really helps with. A new situation happens everyday with a large mix of people like that.

Oh yea and I got busted many a time trying to "edit" my progress reports hahah. My parents knew I was fulla **** though so it never worked.

Seafroggys
10-20-2005, 01:08 AM
yeah my best friend would scan his report card and alter the grades and stuff, we even forged signatures for each other, it was great

School was a blast overall, we laughed everyday and had goodtimes. But I HATED having to worry about passing all the time, at the end of the day that just wears ya down. Every grading quarter it was a struggle to pass... That part of it SUCKED.

I was cleaning at a school. It may seem bad but the pay wasn't bad. £6 an hour and I worked 10 hours a week, so thats around £240 a month. I got the sack cos the stupid **** equipment kept breaking which made me work slow and sometimes not get things finished, so after a couple of times that happened they let me go. Bastards.. Now I have to look for a new job which is annoying, and i have basically no money.

<---- $7 an hour, 40 hours a week, at tim hortons..my first job...im on my first week and ive made 350 already :(

i haven't officially shaved in several weeks. i've just been using one of those electric hair trimmers, like the barbers use and cutting my facial hair as close to the skin as i can.

last time i used a razor it was a Mach 4. that thing ripped up my face, so i had to go back to the Mach 3. i got that M4 gillete razor for free, because they were givining them away for free on campus. it was one of those facy ones where the handle was metal and you only replaced the blades. i know why they were free though. that fourth blade goes straight through the top few layers of skin.

Well, it might be. It will basically make you a better drummer, you will understand what you're playing and why you are playing it. It might help to take up an instrument like the piano if your planning on doing a music theory course as you'll be learning about melody too, not just rhythm.

Also if thats all your playing (sorry if that isnt true) then i recommend listening to some other genres apart from rock: jazz, funk, afrocuban/latin, theres plenty.

Yes, I only really listen to Rock. Can you suggest a good jazz, latin, or funk band for me to download???

Jazz: Miles Davis - So What
Dave Brubeck - Take Five

Funk: (fusion) Herbie Hancock - Chameleon
also try Tower Of Power - I got To Groove

Latin: not sure what to reccomend here, erm.. try searching for Buena Vista Social Club, or just latin or latin jazz

Also try to download some Dub Reggae by King Tubby, and just normal reggae, just type in reggae. Then just listen to all of that loads and try to absorb the beats and play them.

i always thought high school class rings were dumb. what is there to be proud of, anyone can graduate HS, you don't even have to try. plus if you go to college your not going to want to wear that dumb 'ol thing. college is a place to forget about the dumb stuff you did in HS and move on, not carry around some ring from the past, a past that doesn't even matter in the real world.

In Canada, we have elementary school for grades kindergarten to grade 7. Kindergarten is the year before grade one where you only go to school for half a day. Before kindergarten you can also go to preschool where you do little kid crap. Anyways after grade 7 you go to highschool untill grade 12. After grade 12 you either go to college or unitversity. Lots of people go to college first and then university. Thats how it works here.

What?

What did I say?

I've been confusing myself all evening, by thinking about how my brain is converting my surroundings so I can see them.
Like, the image is upside-down, then the brain flips it round.
Or something like that.

Ugh.

Now I feel sick.

You'll feel better once a bunch of guys/pespi oogle your internet pictures.

pics??? :naughty:

i had a terrible migraine this morning. my alarm goes off, a bit too loud for my liking, so i turn it off. i sit up so as not to fall back asleep, and my head just starts throbbing with pain. i open my eyes and the little bit of light that's in my room is making my head feel 100x worse. so i laid in bed for another hour and waited for my head to stop hurting so bad. it's still slightly bothering me, but not enough that it really effects my day-to-day things. except drumming. looks like another day on the pad for me.
