i came back from the worst gig of my life.....

So we play at a battle of the bands, we're 4th on out of 5. We do great.

We get into our last song. Tom (our singer/guitarist) does all this crazy Hendrix ***** like playing with his teeth and banging his guitar around. Then he tells me to go into drum solo (which is all planned of course) so I start doing about a minute long. We had planned out before that I'll do a sort of basic 'ending' lick on the snare (kinda like on Moby Dick) that would enter us into the last chord.

I do tha tlick, and he doesn't go into the chord. In fact, his guitar is completly unplugged.

I do it again, and he still doesn't get it.

I do it two more times, then solo some more, then everything just falls apart and everything goes to ***** and a couple of people (we think it was the band after us, who were a bunch of hardcore pricks anyway) yelled at us to stop.

It ended so damn anti-climatically and lousily. But oh well, life goes on and there's more gigs.

Then backstage my ride cymbal stand fell onto the concret floor, and also knocked one of my toms off of the floor tom and that crash onto the ground too.

And I left my drum rug there, with all my spiking on it.

I'm kinda upset about everything.

metalmilitia101
10-17-2005, 01:05 AM
ah man that's too bad. yeah, i think all of us has a nightmare gig story, but that one's a bitch.

Seafroggys
10-17-2005, 01:49 AM
yeah in retrospect i could have just ended it, i kept waiting for him to play the fricken final chord.

it unplugged because he was banging his guitar around....

Actually how The Auto field is set up 15 dollars is ALOT of money. What happens is we "Flag" trucks. Say I have to do a lube job and electrical inspection on one truck. "The book" says it should take 3 hours. If there is no major electrical problem with the inspection i can be finished with that truck in 30 minutes. But guess what? I get paid for 3 hours, Even though im doing the same thing on another truck in 30 to 45 minuets.

With me running a bay, 30 hours would be fairly easy to hit a day. 150 bucks a day aint too bad... :)

today was awesome... went to first class, the teacher read from a book all class while i listened to my 'between the buried and me' cd i got yesterday, then me and 3 of my friends went into the city to go shopping for 3 hours. i ended up getting a cd, a reso head for my aux snare, some vic firth 2b's, and some scotch tape. i'm making myself a scotch tape/pokemon card wallet, since i found a whole pile of pokemon cards packed in a box yesterday. they're all my brother's, so i used the cheap cheap ones (pikachu, squirtle, charmander, bulbasaur) and i'm half done making it. it's actually alot harder than i thought it would be to put little pockets and everything in it. i'm still thinking of the best way to put a change pocket in there.

i finshed my wallet. and it's looking mighty good as of now. holds everything i need, can't complain.

and i tuned up my snare drum with a new reso head on it (hazy 300's, what CAN'T they do???) and it sounds wonderful, so much that i switched it and am now using it as my main snare. yee-haw.

whoa, i just realized there's like a dead spot on the "post quick reply" button. around the top, on that 'inner shading' of the outline, you can't click on it. check it out everyone. you're welcome.

by the way... how cool i am...

i am awesome at spelling. i have a photogenic memory, and almost every word i've ever seen written, i memorize how to spell it. so when i was at the open house thing at the college, i saw they spelled "karaoke" wrong. i showed my friend, and she didn't believe me, so she looked it up when she got home and i was right, of course. then today, at the mall, one of the restaurants spelled "caesar" wrong, and i pointed it out again. my friends didn't believe me, but of course, i was right. man i'm cool.

I have a spelling problem myself, i cant stand spelling errors. I am more lenient on the internet because i make them myself. I had a teacher last year, she was the shittiest speller. Everytime she made a mistake i would walk up to the board and correct it for her, in red pen. Every three months i gave her a test. She got 90% and a few 100s, im a good teacher:D .

I had to fill out this application for this private school. They had three damn typos in their questions. FOR AN APPLICTAION TO A PRIVATE SCHOOL!!!!!!!!
so i explained to them how ashamed they should be and how they could better spend their money. I totalled up how much they made from each student, subtracted the cost of the staff and threw in like ten thousand for expenses becaues i was nice. I wish i remembered the numbers and got back my application but i never did. So i pointed out how they could put their extra money towards a new secratary and a new computer and pointed them out to a store that i know and trust so that they could get a program with spell check.

Anyway, I had my first private lesson today in over almost 6 years. It was great, the guy was so cool, and was impressed with what I knew and my background over the other two guys that went before me (who are also in jazz band), and I thought I was worse then those two.

It makes me feel all giddy and happy inside. Good timing too, especially after last night.

He goes over the book Syncopation alot (which I still have from my lessons way back when) and told me stuff I could fiddle with with stick control. Good times will follow.

Well, that day sucked SO HARD. I had a wonderful day at school right, I get home, Mom won't drive me to the store to get sticks, we're right there, but she hates doing it, so I have to. On the way there, a little German slick haired goon cuts me off HUGE, and I have to veer into the other lane (thank God there wasn't a car there, I didn't even check). I honked but his stupid *** head stayed straight the whole time, like he was being proped up by a Pearl throne, and his mistress, this big German dyke stayed straight too.

So then I make it there, it's packed. So I said eff it, I'll can just get my sticks at the little shop.

So I go to this horrible shop, on the other side of town, where I think I could just pick up some sticks, it's small and horrible, and I get in there and guess what...

"Hi, can I help you?"

"Yeah, I was just wondering where your drumsticks were."

"Oooh, we don't have any."

"What?"

"Yeah, all of a sudden everybody just got drumstick crazy."

"Not in the whole store?"

"Nope, we should get some in those, within the week."

OH MY GOD.

I was polite and left.

I get back home, I'm in a horrible mood, I go to have a shower, I clear all the wet used towells outta the bathroom, and theres a facecloth hanging on the hook on the wall holding up the mirror in the shower, I give 'er a tug, nothing, I give 'er a little more of a tug, finally I get so angry I just RIP it off, breaking the hook and sending the mirror crashing to the bottom of the bathtub. I was like AHHH!!! At this point I was so incredably angry, I just tossed it all in the garbage and went about my shower.

So then I get out, and I expect to just re-the-eff-lax for the rest of the night, and burn off this horrible day, but as soon as I get outta the shower, relatives are over. Oh my tits. Everyone knows you cannot relax when you have relatives over, you HAVE to be on. So I tuff'd it out for the rest of the night.

Then I thought, hey my best friend will cheer me up, so I go to hang out, and to make a long story short, it sucked.

Haha, so I never got any sticks and bassically yesterday was like the worst day in a while.

I believe, "Dana, why did that man call me? What does skeet mean?", were her exact words.
I told her and she just rolled her eyes and continued making me dinner.

explaining what skeet means may lead to negative rep points. i just recently made it into the positive so i'll have to pass on the meaning.

edit: dang it man i'm supposed to be studying, why am i still on my computer?

Well...
Skeet is a white fluid often secreted from the penis, more formally known as peener, after inserting it into a tight, preferably warm, hole and wiggling it around for approximately 10 seconds.
