It doesn't look too astonishing, but the sound is great. It's a Premier Artis Series Fusion kit, with 10" and 12" toms, and a 14" floor tom that clamps to the ride. it has a 22" bass drum, and a standard snare. All the other hardware (cymbals, etc) I had from my previous Ludwig kit. It's only a 5-Piece now, but I ordered an extra 16" floor tom, which will be arriving within two months. And the best part is, the original cost of this kit was about $2500 Canadian, and I got it for $800, due to my brother being part owner of the shop I ordered it from.

dang, no partying tonight. some of them are working tomorrow, so we decided to drink tomorrow night.

tonight, we just went to a school park and played hackysack for a while (i'm terrible) and then had a shoe flinging contest which turned into a game of jackpot with flying shoes, then we all sat around and talked about random things. after a while we went to one of my friends' house and hung out there for an hour. i tried to eat 6 saltine crackers in a minute, so much tougher than i thought. my strategy was to chew like hell and force them down. i ended up coughing most of it out, and it partially clogged my throat for a while. i sounded like kermit the frog, and everyone was laughing. then when i laughed it was a mix between a kermit laugh and a high squeal, which made me laugh more.

then we watched south park, but we had to do it sneakily because his mom is really against south park. so we had to turn it off whenever we heard her get up, etc. it's really pathetic if you think about it.

well that was my night.

someone give me a type of music to make a techno song on. i've already done rap and arabian, i'm thinking either asian or country. country techno could be pretty nifty.

My Tama Roadpro stands came today, which were suggested as an alternative here to save money on the DW9000s, and all I have to say is that you guys were spot on! These things are tanks. Perfect for mounting my toms plus cymbals! One has an 18" crash, 16" crash and a 14x16 tom monuted on it and it doesn't so much as shake! Thanks for everyone that might remember that thread and posted their opinions!

Well heres my Gigantour report:

Had to wait for my brother to come home from the city. He came about 1 hour later than we the were supposed to leave. We got there around 6:15 and our tickets said the show started at 6:00, but really it started at 4:00.

I missed some ****y bands like Bobaflex so I didn't really care. I missed Nevermore also and my brother really wanted to see them becuase of Lumas. I also missed alot of Symphony X but thats okay becuase the songs I did hear were awesome.

Fear Factory sucks!

Then my brother bought a Megadeth CD so he can get it signed. He said Mustaine is the biggest dick in the world. Also he was stoned as can be and was wearing a tight purple shirt. Thats all I'm gonna say....

EDIT - Mustaine was stoned not my brother. Just to clear up any confusion.

I bought the Octavarium album presigned by them. They couldnt do a signing for some reason. Dream Theater was the best band there of course. They played all the best songs. Ended with As I Am and then did a two song encore or one really long one don't remember.

Megadeth was okay. They sound was really messed up. I think the sound engineer was playing a joke on the drummer becuase every other song we would turn the mics off on his crashes. I left a little bit early to beat traffic.

Thats it. Suprisingly I'm not tired or sleepy, I don't know why.

especially for shots. i think a needle tip broke for one of my hepititis (sp) B shots. the spot hurt for a lot longer than it should have, and theres a scar or something at the spot. and i got that shot over a year ago.

I have the extra bedroom in our house for my drums. It used to be my band's practice room and we had two half-stack guitar amps and one 100 watt bass amp in there along with my drumset, so now that the band has broken up I've got even more room to myself :)

well i went to clean my cymbals with some dishsoap and water, but all it really got off was stick marks. the fingerprints barely came off after extensive scrubbing and everything. is there a certain technique to cleaning cymbals, or do i need to go buy groove juice?

anyone know any ways to bum money off of your parents, without coming right out and asking for money? i never ask my parents for money, and i always offer to pay for things myself, but now i have no money, and i'm going to west edmonton mall tomorrow (biggest mall in the world, woot) for clothes/cds/dvds/possibly drum sticks or something. i think i'm gonna go for the "back to school shopping" thing, but i don't want to be expected to come back with 10 shirts and 5 pairs of pants or something. i'd be glad to pay them back, because my cheque from work is coming in a week, but my mom's always reluctant to just "lend" me money.

On Octavarium the singer sounds totally different then yesterday in concert. In the concert he sounded much more like symphony x vocals or malmsteens vocals. On other albums too. It's weird. Can anyone explain??

There are however many FAKE sites that host soulseek and make you pay for it.
The real site should be soulseek.de or something like that, just search it on Google and it should be the first site.
It does NOT cost anything.

Ares works really well too, Limewire works pretty decently, BIT TORRENT is where it's at.

well my friend's being a little b'itch about his money. we're going shopping tomorrow, and i have a total of $40 now because he NEEDS his $200 now, and not on saturday when i get paid. he said he NEEDS $500 so he can buy some faded pants tomorrow (which are like $80 a pair, when he could just buy thrift store faded pants for about $10) i told him a few days ago that i was planning on spending about $150 on clothes, since all the stores are having "back to school" sales, and this is the main time of the year i get new clothes. but still, he says that he needs all the money because he doesn't know how much he wants to spend. oh, and to make it worse, his dad is driving us, and his dad will pay for about 75% of the things he buys anyways. now he's getting mad because i'm asking if i can "borrow" $100, and he's doing that "ok you can have it but i'm going to be mad for a whole day because you're asking" thing. so yea, now i have to leave a note asking my parents if i can borrow money.

Seeming that the thread Thread (http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=309778) that i was going to post this in got closed, i thought that i would do it in this as well.

Last nite i went to see the Jimmy Chamberlin Complex, and well it was amazing. I was 1 away from the front, and the venue had to hold no more then 100 people (it was the Bar in Islington Acdamy(sp)).

Jimmy for a start, well he was amazing. The single stroke rolls that he was pulling off where so fast, and powerful. And his feet work, he had to be playing at one point 16th's at 120BMP on a single pedal. He was so good, and you could see that his heart was in it. But no what i would say drum solo, but he did a snare solo that was true class. Just watching him play has reignited my drumming, as now i want to play as well as he did.

And Billy (the bassest). I have never seen a bass play like this before. I mean he was jaming away, and then went for it, changed the tuning on his bass, putting it next to his stack to get reverb, he is such a amazing player.
