Hi, basically post up what effects bassists use. If so, a little about the effect and a picture.

CHRIS WOLSTENHOLME'S EFFECTS

Chris uses one amp for clean sound and one amp for all his distorsions and effects. Chris mainly uses distorsion pedals.

Electro Harmonix Big Muff

http://mapage.noos.fr/museandamuse3/instruments/gear/s_chrisbigmuff.jpg
Bought by Chris in Japan for 80 quid, this very famous pedal (made in Russia by a military industry company called Sovtek) is actually an electric guitar distorsion pedal. Matt Bellamy has his own but Chris's one is dark green and Matt's has a golden finish.

Akai SB1 Deep impact

http://mapage.noos.fr/museandamuse3/instruments/gear/s_akai.jpg
This bass effect pedal gives Chris some big, fat, nasty, throbbing analog synth sounds. Nine presets and nine user presets are available.

Boss Turbo Overdrive

http://mapage.noos.fr/museandamuse3/instruments/gear/s_bossturbooverdrive.jpg
Another electric guitar effect that Chris has decided to include in his setup. Matt also uses this effect.

Line 6 POD

http://mapage.noos.fr/museandamuse3/instruments/gear/s_pod.jpg
Chris first used this amp modeler effect during a Japan tour and he appreciated the quality of the sound created so he included it in his gear.

I found that online at www.museandamuse.com

This is a great release by Toneworks. I have been using it for awhile now. Has a drum machine and around 200 different effects. You can get pretty much any sound you want out of this thing. The only thing i dont like about it is its kinda hard to switch in the middle of a song. It would have been more convient as a peddle.

Just wondering which effect Chris Wolstenholme uses to get that slap kind of effect without acrually slapping on songs like Uno, Plug in Baby and Hyper Music?

Im pretty sure its an effect coz i saw them live and he didnt switch basses for Plug in baby but still got that sound and he didnt slap?

I thinks its just because he plucks really aggresively.

How do you make a pedal board?

brokentoy3mz

pedal board? as in just making something so your pedals can rest on? If so you can really use any old piece of wood (like ply or particle). Measure you pedal set-up array, and calculate the dimensions to the wood. Cover the wood with a cheap fabric and to attach the pedals to it, you can buy some velcro...or if you feel confient with your setup, glue it all down. However, if you're talking about making a pedal-board with a tone of effects, that all deals with digital processing and whatever.

I have a question about volume pedals! I don't know how to post this on a sepperate thread but it's pretty close to this subject.

Does anybody know of a volume pedal that when used can produce a roll-off effect? (example:check out Jason Newsted's solo on the Seatle-Justice tour on the metallica Live S**T box set) And if there isn't a specific pedal that can do that, then does anyone know any cross multi-effects that can do so?
