I've had this discussion with several MX users, and I think it would make a decent thread. Discuss your favourite Bond (and explain your reasons, please).
For me it would have to be Sean Connery, without a question. Moore is a close second, if only for the shear volume and quality of his Bond films, but Connery still takes the cake. It might be because he was the original, but I still haven't seen an actor that can beat him as Bond.
Lazenby was laughable. Dalton, though the film was enjoyable, still doesn't compare to the other two.
With Brosnan, I don't think it is so much his fault, as it is the films themselves. The scripts have become banal, and I've never been a big fan of movies that rely soley on CGI/special effects for kicks. As an actor he does a fair job, but the films themselves just aren't as enjoyable as older Bonds.
So, discuss your favourite Bond and your reasoning.

roger moore strikes me as a better actor for the role. and also all his work that involves richard kiel(jaws) is really great.
Dr. No, because that was one of the first Bonds I saw that didn't have Brosnan in it.
Also, I find it hysterical how Mike Myers parodized this movie the most with his Austin Powers movies.

I like the part in my initial post where I say explain your reasoning. I think taking the time to type that out sure has paid off :).
Sean was the only real bond

I enjoy Sean Connery most. He gave the role a versatile character, which neither Moore nor Dalton could manage to keep. Pierce Brosnan is just a cliché Bond.
BTW, does anybody know who is going to be the new bond? I forgot it.
I think we all agreed I should be the next bond a while ago

I don't think they came to a conclusion. I know they were throwing around some names of British actors, and I know Brosnan supported one. I'm going to get breakfast, when I get back I'll try to find the answer.

I don't think James Bond has about 19,000 posts on an internet forum.

Sean Connery, thaty guys the man. It's a shame he wore a tupe for most of his movies.
Pierce Brosnan I think is 2nd best. While most of his movies weren't that great he acted fine. Goldeneye ruled though.
Roger Moore in 3rd. he was good, but just something I didn't like about him as much as the other 2.

I've gotta go with Connery on this one. He looked the part and had the cheeky comic lines down to a tee. The fact that he's the original helps his as well as the others will forever be compared to his Bond.
Moore was good and had that upper-classishness about him that I see in Bond, but I don't think he could handle the action like Sean.
I didn't think Lazenby was too bad. The film wasn't particularly good and at the time it was hard to accept a different (non-Brit) guy as Bond. Hard to accept Bond getting married too. Georgey-boy was actually offered an extended contract to carry on playing Bond but his agent said that their wasn't a market for a post-Connery Bond and advised him not to sign it.

I would say Connery and Brosnan at a tie.
They both had the humour and i enjoyed lots of both of their films.
I liked Brosnan's films, except for the latest one.
I don't like Moore, he seems so bland and i don't really like the films he was in.

Clive Owen seems to be the favourite to take the role on next which would be an excellent choice for me. As for my favourite bond i'm going with roger moore he made the one liners his own and he brought something more than the all out action of connery. That's how i see it anyway.

Absolutely. We were talking about this the other day, and the conclusion is that they will probably keep going on anyways. People will go see the films no matter how bad they get.
I like how I totally answered this question differently than anyone else (see: third post of thread)
Reasoning: because I am an idiot :(

Moore > Brosnan > Connery > Lazenby > Dalton
Moore's movies have just been the best, and he's the most believable as a spy.
And last I heard it was Orlando Bloom as the next Bond, but that could just be an internet rumor.
--Bronsnan endorsed Colin Farrel to be the next bond.

I always used to like Roger Moore more but a few years ago or so, I realised that Connery is the best with Moore in second place. Connery just had that charmer of a voice, very cool. Moore was good too just not as good. Third place I would say Timothy Dalton, 4th Pierce Brosnan and last George Lazenby.
And I agree that Die Another Day was complete and utter shít,
