With the whole nfl exclusive deal as well as the espn deal they made, I'm pretty unhappy about it all. Yes, I understand it's a business, but now they have a complete monopoly on football games, which is sad for consumers, who can now not really make a choice.

what do you guys think?

They like to make mediocore games and they get huge sales and are succeding in their plan for world domination.
They are developing Timesplitters Future Pefect now. It will boost sales.

i havent like EA since the sega genesis days. I continue to dislike there whole lineup, and refuse to shell money out to the company. The only thing they do well is advertise. Their crappy marketing ploys dont work on me. Unfortuneatly i seem to be the only one (not that you guys do, its just that they lead the market, which i think is pitiful)

Yeah, Burnout 3 was good and their American sports games are pretty good. And didn't they make the Medal of Honour series as well?

Rancid Dan

They don't MAKE all the games i think they just advertise them.

i think for the amount of money and time they invest, i personally think their games are lacking. I mean how many sequels do you have to make till a game gets good for crying out loud

they're a big umbrella. They fund the company and make the final decisions. They have little sub companies.

They have such a large amount of sports based games that it almost makes them a monopoly in the category. Such titles as Madden and Fifa will continually be released every year, and most people always upgrade to the new year so I don't see how they could ever lose a fan base. I really don't like them having a monopoly, but most of their sports games never fail to deliver a great gaming experience.

I can't wait for Madden 06'

I don't mind it, they won't drive up prices, it will still remain 40-50$ but they have to make it good or else I, and hopefully other people won't buy it.

Basically, sooner or later, they WILL own your soul. And probably mine.

I do enjoy the EA sports titles, but i think tyrant21 is right when he says its a monopoly and the customer cant choose. What if (god forbid) madden 2006....sucks? :amaze: :amaze: :amaze:

And i also heard they might have to drop john madden due to the prices of the espn announcers they gained from a partnership with sega sports.

EA James Bond video games suck. That's all I really have to say about that.

I mean, has anyone played Nightfire for PS2? It's horrible.

Medal of Honor was EA, yes? Those were good games.

A new Madden comes out every year. Usually they just do some tweaking but there aren't always many revolutionary new features. Last year I bought Madden 2004 on impulse because I saw it for £10 (even though it was being sold in a different box for £25 in the same store). It was the first one I'd played since 2001 and as such I really liked it (still do) because it was a significant jump from what I'd previously known. Basically I recommend (with these sports games at leat) not getting them every year.

just like all EA crap, the first one is decent, 1000s of sequels insue with extremely miniscule differences between the new one

Like every publisher EA has some good games and some worse games, EA is just making to much sequels right now.

Yes, if you shoot enough times at a barrel of fish, you'll hit a couple eventually.

I think that EA has way to much of a grasp on the gaming world. They recently took over UO, and now force you to watch their advertisement at startup. Things like this anger me, as a single company cannot create good games after a period of time. One group of people with certain beliefs and ideas arent going to make very good games for long.

i would totally agree with this assesment. This is another valid reason i refuse to give them money. COME ON ROCKSTAR and other small name business that can produce QUALITY games

I hear that Bungie are wanting to work on a non-halo title next, let's hope it's good.

EA made Madden, therefore I like them. They do have some good games but I totally agree about this whole domination thing.

I don't play the Madden games but every Fifa that comes out all they really do is update the statistics and make a crappy new move. No thought, time and real effort goes into it.

yea, but that goes along the whole "release 100 games, change them 2% per title, by the 1000th release, GOLD!!"

Tyrant21

all this is good to hear, I want companies concerned with making quality games as well as money, EA only cares about the latter.

The problem is, if they keep buying up all the talent like they have been (ex. Ubisoft) it'll be harder and harder to hate them because they'll release really good games every once in a while.

But for the time being, I strongly dislike EA.
