Q: I'm gonna write something up for the Girl Talk album tonight, but I was just wondering (for those who've heard it), should I file under hip-hop or other?

Also, someone tell me some other albums to write up. I hate going through and picking at random. I always write about things I like.

Q: I'm gonna write something up for the Girl Talk album tonight, but I was just wondering (for those who've heard it), should I file under hip-hop or other?I would probably go with Genre: Hip-Hop
Subgenre: Pop
Subgenre: Other

Just hip-hop.

Isn't it kind of redundant to make 'other' a subgenre? That doesn't really tell you anything.

It's necessary on a site as relatively focused as this. If we got a sudden surge of polka or venezuelan waltz reviews, they'd obviously have a case for their own genre but for now they'll do under Other.

I meant like this:

I would probably go with Genre: Hip-Hop
Subgenre: Pop
Subgenre: Other

It's redundant to have 'other' as a secondary genre for a particular artist. I can understand why you misunderstood me.

EDIT: Also I'm reviewing Bob Dylan's Modern Times.

Dave de Sylvia

I don't think Other can be made a secondary genre, can it?

...can I ask why you would request that?

Regardless, it's already been done for all the TMV albums released thus far.

Frances the Mute:

De-Loused in the Comatorium:

Scabdates:

One is kind of around 4000 words long and two don't sit there and scream "I'm a tbt!", but they are.

Robert Crumb?I was actually thinking about maybe doing it. I don't know though, I hate reviewing long albums.

edit: But I would much rather see Hep Crumb or Miguel do it.

I would do Idlewild, except:

A) My opinion isn't really too different from the one stated in the current review.

B) Crumb > me.

I would do Idlewild, but no one asked me to.

I'd like to see more 80's pop in general. Seriously, I don't care who it is, I just want to see more of it on the site.

I've been writing a Rio review for about nine months now. Should be ready to coincide with Simon LeBon's funeral in 2056.

If you do it I will read it. It doesn't matter alot to me who does it and your a good reviewer so i would be very satisfied if you reviewed it.

I was prepared to do 4 reviews in the next 6-7 days, but I gave up on one before even starting it.

So if anyone has Big L - Lifestylez Ov Da Poor & Dangerous, give it a shot.

I'd love, absolutely adore if someone reviewed Fantasia. Preferably Liberi or DFelon since they've each done similar-styled reviews before, but anyone who has the capability I would be more than appreciative.

The soundtrack to the Disney film?

And what similar-styled reviews have I done?

Yes, the soundtrack to the Disney film.

I do believe you have done one or two classical writings in your time here, and while Fantasia is merely just slight changes to traditional classical compositions, I'd still prefer someone wrote it who had some sort background on the subject. You and DFelon are the only two somewhat active writers who I've noticed that in. Again, I really wouldn't mind anyone doing it.

Now I'm not one for Elton John normally, but someone desperately needs to do a better review for Goodbye Yellow Brick Road. I'll do it if I ever actually get the album, but I probably won't.

Can someone please review Peter, Bjorn and John's Writer's Block, it aint a great album and most of the album don't click with me, but Young Folks is such a delicious song that I think it should be reviewed.

Or alternatively, could somebody review Cansei De Ser Sexy by CSS. It aint an amazing album and a fair bit of the album doesn't click with me, but the singer is so cute, and a few of their quirky songs are so awesome that I think it should be reviewed.

Zmev

Their DFA song is decent, lemme see if I can get that and put it in review form.

edit: Alright chief this is doable, expect 2-3 days for review delivery, depending how many things I do with other people in the days to come.II

editII: done, sorry if it isn't the opinion you were looking for, Lib.

I'm going to try and review that soon. Lately things have been very hectic for me though, so I may not be able to squeeze in any reviews at all, but I'll do my best.
