For a background of the game, the developers want to immerse you as much as possible into the horror element. That means, NO HUD. No crosshairs, you can't see a stupid health bar, you have to check the barrel of your gun for ammo. You have phobias and go insane from seeing things that're too terrifying for your character to handle.

I've been following it for over two years. It's gone through graphics overhauls, but it's goin' to be amazing. Only for the PC and XBox. Just watch movies 4 and 5 to be convinced.

It's based on H.P. Lovecraft's series of horror novels related to a demon god, Cthulu. At least that's what I'm assuming Cthulu is. But yeah, basically Doom without the ridiculous factor and five times as scary and infinitely more innovative.
