Discuss the Aussie Open that's going on in the land down under. The singles are almost all to the quarterfinals, so who do you think is going to win for the men and women?

for men it's Federer for me, for the women, I'm going with Serena.

Federer will probably win it, although I'd prefer Roddick or Agassi.

That was one heck of a match between Johansson and Agassi.

Johanssons serves in the first set and second set were amazing. He'll be one to watch in the future.

Did u hear about the match with hewitt, where the guy playing him (sth american guy) spat at him ... it's all over the news here in oz.

Apparently the guys coach put his finger up at hewitt in the middle of the match.

The Nadal/Hewitt Match was great, same with the Molik/Williams which just finished. Molik got up, GO THE AUSSIES!! Tennis isn't really my thing though, but my mum is a tennis nut. And I would also like to state that the Williams sisters are the two worst dressed women I've ever seen on a tennis court.

Yeah, I prefer to play/do the sport instead of watching it, but like you my mum is hooked. I was trying to study some music theory but my mum was going "oo", "woah!" and "SHOT!" so much that I got sucked into that Molik game as well lol.

Anyway, Aussie open... dunno about the women's not been paying that much attention to who's good and who's better but on the men's i reckon Safin could just take it away from Federer if he gets in the right frame of mind, he's been on a killer bit of form in the tournament so far.

Alicia Molik got beaten by Lindsay Davenport today, it was a long 3 set match. And Hewitt just beat David Nalbandian, in a match that went for over 4 hours and the last set finished at 10-8. It was a good match, although some of the line calls were pretty dodgy.

yep those lines calls were very dodgy. I think, if not for the crap line calls, our alicia molik would of got thru.



and now hewitt and safin are playing - it will be a good one, but crap at the same time.

Safin is excellent and I want him to win - but I'm an aussie, so I also want Hewitt to win... I'm very confused...

:lol: A biased Australian, the line calls weren't that bad. Most of them were exaggerated by the crowd who were so biased it wasn't funny. Everytime one of the line judges called it out they would complain. Even though hawk eye proved the crowd wrong on most of the occasions.

^ I'll agree, Hawkeye has exposed a lot of dodgy calls. But anyway, Safin/Federer game was awesome, and I'm really looking foward to the Mens final. And in the womens, I hope Davenport gets up.

lol... I was hoping davenport would win because I think she's a good tennis player. She gets tired quite easy, tho. Nevertheless, she's definately decent.

Most of the bad calls I saw came in the second set which Molik won. The ones in the 3rd set were all called correctly by the line judges but the crowd booed and complained.

I'm more pleased with the Men's result than I am with the Women's. Marat Safin seems to be a fairly nice guy, and was gracious in his winning.

Yeah I agree, when Molik could've gotten the lead, and they called her out. It all went downhill after that.
