I used to do Tae Kwon Do. Earned a black belt. Had to do some other sports so I quit.

I too also did Tae Kwon Do. Im a fellow blackbelt, but my move to a rural community forced me to quit. I've been in several sparing competitions, my strategy was always mixed up. However, I tried to base them on my 2 strongest, most controled kicks; my roundhouse and my jumping backkick. Headshots are one of my areas of specialty. The guy thorws an attack, I dodge/block, jump back, he attacs again, I dodge to left/rioght and roundhouse him in the side of the head. OR if a guy is coming at me with an attack from my left, I do a backick to the right ,forcing him to hit a non-point area and I get an extra shot at him.

I spar a lot, I'm testing for second in October. I'm rather fast, but I need to work on my exits in continuous sparring, but I can cover distance very well in point sparring.

I have trained with my grandfather years back with jujitsu. He was one of the instructors who tought some of the army rangers in WW2, also was in combat patrols on various islands including the marshalls. A good man he was and incredibly strong for being 5'4 including his age.

But on topic I have never done an competion matches or anything like that, I have viewed a few and they are quite fun to watch.

I've boxed for quite a few years off and on. I've basically been a sparring partner for guys that do compete. I've never felt the need to actually compete myself though. Plus, there's no way you could convince me to drop weight. :)

I challenge people I meet in the supermarket to fistfights.

I used to do TaeKwonDo for about, 3 years, all in all it was wasted time as I probably could've taught myself better in a shorter period of time, an example of how much time was wasted would be how they kept me and my friend from doing our first grading for 6 months because the guy we needed to do the grading wasn't able, or just didn't feel like coming

our actual instructor is a cool guy but he never noticed the flaws in my technique which I only noticed after leaving.

I'm thinking about taking it back up again though, since I found out about "tricking" or "martial tricks", I really want to do a style of wu-shu though

Wu Shu is more or less a form of Kung Fu, but it has different forms. Look it up it's pretty interesting (Plus it has drunken boxing as one of the forms, fun++)

Method Man says he's unhappy with Fox for squeezing the "ghetto" out of his new sitcom.

I've been learning Tien Shan Pai, a style of Kung Fu, for about 4 years now. I'm going to a competition in May, but I've really only done a few in the past, they can be fun but I'm generally not much of a competitive person.

Yeah, I feel you, but I'm still hanging on with Taekwondo. In took me about 8 years to get black belt, i hate those little 5 year old kids who get their black belts so fast. It just destroys the meaning and purpose of the true black belt
yeah, don't get me wrong I loved doing TKD but the instructors etc never managed to get the class properly trained I don't think.

I also have a disliking to these kids running around with belts they really shouldn't have been allowed to gain, considering they're let off of doing alot of the things that an adult would have to.

is judokai the one where when you get hit you don't even feel it? I know it takes alot of training but i saw a demonstration where a guy took 4 punches in the neck at the same time... it was intense and i dont know how it didnt crush his windpipe and kill him...
