hahaha yup yup, i haven't seen that pimpzilla for ages, what's he up to these days? i also met a guy called povey ages ago who i think you know?
i'd love to see skylar, for ages i was only listening to their 2 songs on myspace then after a while i ordered their cd from do the dog, the day i got it we had a party at my old house and it got lost/robbed, gutted.
dunno what tom's mainly up to....he just put on a show for that dave(?) guy who is going on trial in america, he's just doing stuff around the westcountry i think. he's still quite involved in last hours stuff in london as well i guess, he's around there quite a lot (that's how i know him).
haha yeah where did you meet povey? yeah i know him very well haha. once he lost his wallet and had to stay at mine for a week. and i introduced him to some squatter friends which is the reason he moved to london, although i haven't seen him properly in quite a while
ahh gutted about the skylar cd! if you want i could always send you some over :chug:
and haha, the kid on under the fog looks like me. but it's not

If anyone is going to the Streetlight Manifesto/Reel Big Fish tour that coming up in the next few months I gotta reccommend you check out the opening band Tip the Van. They're from CT and I've seen them probably like 6 or 7 times and I've also interviewed the two singers at my old radio station.
These kids are really good and definitly worth showing up for.

Tip the Van are garbage but one of their members is hot. I seriously never liked them even when I listened to ska, but at least they get kids to shows in CT.

I know they are for sure on the East Coast.

I really disagree and they're by far the best ska band CT has spit out in a while.

Mighty Mighty Bosstones are much better than Less Than Jake.
The only good Less Than Jake song is The Science Of Selling Yourself Short.

They were amazing. Only part that was a bit disappointing was Dicky was losing his voice after 4 straight days of doing a tour. At least he admitted it right in the beginning of the show and still did his damned best through out the show. Their horn section is amazing.
Tonight I'm seeing Tip the Van, Streetlight Manifesto and Reel Big Fish. I've seen them each like 6-8 times but I don't think I can get tired of seeing any of them.

can't remember if i've posted about them in here before (haven't by the looks of things) but just started listening to new band from ex-filaments, babaar luck and majah tunder called the Babylon Whackers, not a big fan of the name but they make some truly sweet ska/reggae music, can't stop listening to the track marching blind
babylon whackers are awesome! sounds reaallly sweet. can't wait for the summer and listening to them loud.

Wow no ones posted in here in a while.
I'm just curious if anyone's checked out Big D and the Kids Table's new album "Fluent in Stroll"? I picked this up last night and I love it. Not only that but two of the back up female vocalists are the lead singers to a local band called Tip The Van that I've gotten to interview before and know'em a bit. It's not like any other Big D album that's come out before though.

Its so good through and through.
I also saw Streetlight Manifesto and Westbound Train yesterday at Warped Tour. Tom from Streetlight had his arm in a sling so he couldn't play guitar and someone from Big D was playing for him. It was only the second time he'd played with them and you could tell.

My physics lab TA is an awesome dude. He wore a Suicide Machines tshirt at my last lab and commented on the Rx Bandits tshirt I had on the other day. I also know he digs Streetlight. He's a lot better at wiring circuits than I am. I've never known anyone else into ska.

lots of old ska kids in higher education. i went to grad school with one of the keyboarders for Regatta 69 (NC), and had a TA in undergrad that was the original keyboard player for Westbound Train. in fact, i think he came up with their name.
The Pietasters have a big st patrick's day show coming up in baltimore and i've been thinking about going. i miss good ska.

A co-worker of mine is friends with the guitar player in Westbound Train. I got to chat with him a little at last years Warped.
