the reason normal drums sound realistic is because every time the drummer hits the drum, he uses a slightly different amount of force, and hits the skin in a lsightly different place, etc.

For this reason, realistic computer durm samples are VERY hard to acheive.

leafdrums

Use leafdrums. Why leafdrums? Well I have used countless programs and spent weeks/months trying to find the right program and as soon as I gave up all hope, I ran into leafdrums. Out of every program I have used (And I have used a lot) leafdrums is the closest thing out there. It's free, if you have any drum experience at all it's easy to use. You can create and record whole songs with the drum program.

I suggest you give it a shot. :thumb:

everyone *always* says that fruity loops is for techno.
no..no no..its not ONLY for that

there have been many musician forum members who stood by this product and even posted audio samples

you can use your pre-recorded samples
you can add effects to them (compression, delay, reverb) anything..to adjust your kit so that it fits your style
you can import midi (i think..im sure you can)

and i'm a believer in midi. i *know* you can get realistic sounding beats going on..even a "loose" live feel..w.here the drummer does hit with different velocities
that goes way beyond what i would need, but you should know that you do have that as an opportunity with midi

etc...

give it a whirl

oh...and it used to be called fruity loops...now its "FL STUDIO"

just get fruity loops or hammerhead, for what version of FL, it doesn't matter if your using it solely for a rythem.
