The only band worth mentioning is Weird Kid Beard Kid which their guitarist is quite good and other than that it's a bunch of crappy punk bands. Not a very inspiring local scene for me.

I know a band from virginia called Counterfeit Molly. They label themselves as alternative, but I think they're too talented for that category, :lol: so I'd call them hard/classic rock or something.

I'm from Michigan and my favorite local bands are:

Tornado Parade (hardcore from Mt. Pleasant)

In Tx, and I don't really go out much, but I have seen Us And Them, a totally kick arse pink floyd tribute band that rocked...I've seen em three times in a year, so yea.

The scene here is odd, and I lost touch with it, but some good local bands are:
octane (hard rock/metal, very good metallica covers, even better originals)
Town Hall(jazz fusion thing, jam band works, their live shows kick ***, they had a horn instrument going through a wah)
Silvertide (local band, getting lots of radio play around here, sound a lot like a charged up version of black crows)
