It's only a rough draft of my latest song idea ... be gentle.

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/2/retrofitmusic.htm

It's the one entitled 'Heavy Metal song 2.0

I'm going to organize it better and work on the solo a bit (it's almost there .. still needs mucho work).

It's just me and my drum machine .. I've only been playing for 4 years without lessons of any sort so please be nice ... constructive criticism only.

Thanks

RetroFit

Note: In order to listen to the song, click the Lo-Fi link

Also ... the audio file is a bit quiet so you may need to adust your volume settings on your computer. :)

My computer doesn't take that link. Maybe you should invest in a new one.

I copy and pasted it just to make sure but it works fine on my computer and my roommate's computer

I use a mac :upset:

RetroFit

then there shouldn't be any problems at all ... Macs are compatible with pretty much anything ... especially audio files.

Maybe your song is just to crap for my computer, because it doesn't work.

/thread.

that, or it's too good for your computer. ;)

Please give me FEEDBACK on my latest song.

hskkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk *crackle* hsk hssssk hsssskk bwwoooooarrrrrrrrr
/feedback

It's very quiet. I can hardly hear it. Sound is only coming out of my left channel. Sounds quite generic.

So RetroFit is all about almost inaudible generic quasi-metal?

you got it

it plays fine on my computer and there's hardly any feedback on my speakers (just a little)

Also ... it's just me playing with my drum machine. I've only been playing for 4 years and without any guitar lessons of any sort ... hence the reason why I said "be gentle" in my first post.

:)

Oh- well in that case, it did work- I just thought the weird crackling was the result of a computer error or something :smoke:

/is lying.

There is a whole section for these sort of threads. Can't remember the name... RetroFit is about being really, really quiet.

you guys are worthless. I'd get better responses from a home & garden forum.

^^^ this forum is called a musician forum for a reason.. n00bies

BTW, threadstarter.. I am not gonna comment on the recording quality because anything that comes only from the left speaker at such a wuss volume is bad recoridng quality.

Onto the riffs.. they are not excitingly original. But they work as a metal-ish piece. Pinch harmonics and wide vibratos are a nice touch and it adds to the song. Ya should work on making the drum beats more interesting to increase dynamic and arrange the song better.

how 'bout the solo-type-thingy at the end? Does it fit? I updated it with a different version ... I'm not sure if it works.

Thanks btw for being the only mature person to respond.

also ... I don't understand why you guys can only hear it through the left speaker ... it's playing on all speakers on my computer and my roommate's computer.

already is here ... not too many people respond here though buddy. I figured I'd get some responses if I posted it in a more popular forum, and it worked. Check out the thread that I posted in this forum .... 1 response telling me that the guy will post an actual response later on .... worthless.

they usually don't .... besides ... I'm not the type to wait around all day like some tool with no life for someone to answer my post. I like to come to these forums once in a while and get my answers quickly and promptly without any trouble.
