hey,
i had a question regarding independant labels. My band has just finished our demo. its not top quality or anything but its definately good enough quality for you to get the general idea of what we do. I was curious if anyone people could list as many independant record labels as possible that we could send our demo to. I live in Los Angeles, but have no problem sending a demo to iraq if need be. thanx

The thing about independent labels is they're pretty genre-specialized. So, you're gonna need to tell us your style of music (or better yet show us a song :) )!

all of our songs are different. we hardly use any distortion in any songs so I dont want to say we are a punk band but that is sort of what we do. punk\pop-punk\ledzepellin type stuff

A good place to start looking at labels is here.
http://www.punkrock.org/labels.html
This is just a LIST of independent labels. It doesn't tell what style they prefer or where they are located so you kinda just have to go fishing through them. By the way, just because it says PUNKrock.org doesn't mean all labels deal specifically with punk rock. I have found labels for hardcore, screamo/emo, metal, etc. They use the term "punk rock" very loosely like I do to catagorize all "other" forms of rock closely related to punk. Hope this helps as a start. :thumb:
