Difficulty Level

Which do you start a game on? Why?

I start on easy level for every game I play. To me it's not the challenge of completing a game, it's seeing it all the way through.. every cutscene, every plot twist. If I'm too crap to get to the end (a rarity), I'll cheat (but will only cheat if I really really can't get to the end or simply can't be bothered as in the final level on Serious Sam: The Next Encounter).

I'll often progress to medium difficulty on the second time around, but with almost every game, in the later levels I get bored of trying so hard and I stop playing.

I usually start it on Hard, then if it's worth beating again I play it on Very Hard.

Except for games like Ninja Gaiden, that I started on Normal.

I usually start a game on easy, to get a good feel for it.


Then I'll try harder difficulities.

Well its usualy the hardest. I like playing a game that gives me a challenge. Like for halo one i played it on legendary and broke three controlers in fits of rage like you do. was fun but sost me like thirty quid on controlers. :upset:

On fighting games, I play on the difficulty 1 above the easiest. Then as I get better, I keep upping the difficulty until I can hold my own on Very Hard or whatever the highest difficulty is.

In other games, I usually start on easy and put it normal for the second time around. Then if I really like the game, I put it on the hardest difficulty for the third time.

I usually start at whatever the default difficulty level is. Usually "Normal" or medium...then if I get killed to easily I'll put it on Easy or if the game it too easy I'll up it to Hard.

i usually go for whatever the default is. If its too easy, i dont waste my time with it any longer, except for ninja gaiden. Everyone needs to play it

If it's the first time that I played the game, I'll start on easy until I'm familiar with the controls.

If I've played the game before, normal/hard (this is basically for games in a series, such as NCAA Football 2003, NCAA 2004, NCAA 2005, etc).

I started on easy when I was younger. Nowadays I start on normal, and if it's a good game, I'll run through again on hard.

i play on whichever is the most fun - if you can play and win without trying to hard, then i'll set it to higher difficulty

Nice avatar. Im playing Ninja Gaiden on Normal, and Im just up to the first battle with Alma.

I usually start on Normal, then I go up the difficulty levels
