Yea, PS3 will be better for a few reasons, (i'm not trying to bash)

1. They have Intel and Toshiba and IBM working with them

2. They are developing this thing called the "Cell"

"it will have a DVD burner and be able to record TV, but we believe Sony will leave that to the PSX - as this would drive the price up beyond the capacity of most gamers. We feel it is highly likely that PS3 will have a Hard Drive as Sony have made it clear that the future of gaming appears to be online, and this would provide memory for downloads, game saves, and improving loading times like in FFX. PS3Land believes that it is likely the PS3 will be upgradeable with add-ons, much like the PS2's network adaptor and Hard drive"

Those photos are really touched up to.

The detail in them is insane and woul explode top of the line graphics card for today.

Personally I don't think those quality will be possible in real time for atleast another 4-5 years.

Holy ****! Float points? Does that imply...C++ based programming? 1 trillion floats is equal to about 1.7 trillion int calcs. And isn't "The Cell" A cluster processor, branching out all these calculations to multiple processors held within one "cell"?

No, it has been confirmed that there will be no hard disk. They will use flash memory.

It's a shame. Loading times are zero once you copy your game to the harddrive. ;)

Flash memory is basically like RAM that has a long-term memory, so its very fast, but can't hold a lot, about 1 gig now.
