hi i went busking for the second time outside south ken tube station and got £24 (12am-5pm)
is that good money or should i try at covent garden heard thats real good place?
what is kinda dumb is that i'm a really good bassist but i couldn't afford a acoustic bass so i got an acoustic guitar which i can't play that well
so what is 24 quid for playing chords and simple green day riffs

Tips for Busking:
1. Always say thanks
2. Remove and high denotions of money, people give to people with little money in the 'hat
3. Make sure that you have a busking pass
4. Makets are good because people there have money, try Camden, Thats a good spot.

tewnty four pounds sterling is not bad at all.i am in canada, and that would be a fifty dollar day for me,so,not bad.although a really good day here you can make a hundred or more in full tourist season with a permit, and a good spot...

You need a license pretty much everywhere. From local city/town hall is where you get them from as far as i understand. I always wanted to busk as i play the guitar/kind of sing, but i never made the effort or had the courage. Maybe someday...

£24 is more than most bands get each at the end of a pub gig. So good on you.
I always wanted to busk when I was about 6, I had an Early Learning Centre plastic harmonica.

Busking in Auckland (NZ) is awesome money..I get about 150 bucks for a couple of hours work (Haha. Work.). Once I busked at a festival and got about 230 bucks for a couple of hours. Who needs a job with that kind of money?

Is it important to be able to sing? I guess acoustic could get fairly boring on its own if you're just playing chords. Would it be worth learning to play the harmonica or somehting to accompany the guitar?>

Yeah, I think it would be good to be able to sing, or play a harmonica as well. I think someone would make a lot of money if they played a banjo on it's own, or get a friend who can keep a beat and bring along some little hand drums with an acoustic, that'd bring in the money!

Wow! You must be good!
Badly Drawn Boy spent four hours busking outside Waterloo and didn't even enough to buy a copy of his single (he got £1.97)
You're allowed to busk acoustically anywhere, so long as you don't do anything that could be called begging.
If you want to play amplified you need a street trading licence.
If you want to busk in Convent Garden you need a special licence.
