Counter Strike Executable Out of Date??

I own the Retail version 1.0.0.5 of Counter Strike and when I try and connect to an Internet game, it says "Youre Counter Strike Executable is out of date" Even though there are "no possible updates at this time"

Does anyone know a way round this? :upset:

why don't you actually update it to 1.6?

I think 1.5 is defunct since I'm almost sure they've taken down WON.

There is a version of 1.5 for Steam though:

IMO, if you're going to get Steam to play 1.5, you should just download 1.6 instead. I don't see why people make such a big deal about 1.5 being better. There's really a minimal difference. Now, if you were to compare 1.6 to 1.3, then that's a different story.

Finally got it working, first time Ive played Counter Strike online for some time and it still seems to be exactly the same so why all the updates??
