Hi, check out my friends band. www.purevolume.com/musicgoon It's piano driven rock, but it's really good considering he did all the instruments and recorded it at home. Feel free to critique. Thanks :)

It's different but not bad, I kind of like it.

pretty meh, but i didn't get past about a half minute's worth. I quite like the Cure but don't know of or like the rest of the influences.

It was a cool little song. Really light hearted in my opinion. I couldn't see myself really listening to it as far as music goes, but I definately could picture it as the background music for a levi jeans commercial or sumtin. ;)

death metal / hardcore/post hardcore? I don't see the death in it. They sound pretty young. Nice happy music with pretty depressing lyrics. I like it i guess. How old is he?

Thanks a lot for your comments. He's just joking about being Metal/Posthardcore. He jokes around a lot.

Ben Lee does a better job of the genre and your friends voice is a bit annoying, though production is good for a home recording.

I've never heard of Ben Lee. I guess I'll check it out. Seems like a lot of Bens do piano driven stuff. Ben Lee, Ben Kweller, and Ben Folds. haha. Yeah, he sings pretty high. He's going to do some songs that are just instrumental like a cover of the Charlie Brown song because he doesn't want to sing. Thanks for checking it out.

the piano and vocals kind off overpowered the drums and guitar, maybe its just my speakers, but thats what i heard

Yeah, he made some other songs that have guitar and drum parts that are louder. There's even a guitar solo in one of them, but he's not going to put them up yet because he needs to redo vocals. Thanks for listening even though the quality isn't the best that it could be.

Didn't like the vocals, but that was because it's not my kind of voice I like to hear with that kind of music, but they are done well, the entire song is really clean sounding, and has a good beat, good job guys.
