Make a way to keep losers from just posting there "I was just fooling around" or "it's not very good but..", you know, the ones that suck and just waste space.

I have recently written up an in-depth tutorial explaining the basics and the advancements of recording. As I listen to some of the recordings, its obvious some members are unaware of how to record properly, what programs to use, where to host music, etc. Would you like me to post this tutorial? Hopefully it will help improve the recordings, making the forum a little more fun than it already was. ;)

seems as though the front page of this forum shuffles every day, lotta people bumping again and again, though that seems to be the only way for their stuff to be seen amidst the constant shifting.
perhaps a further sectioning of the arena could clean it up a little bit, say:
covers/originals, by genre, even self perceived level of experience. The goal of this being, less shuffling, less bumping, more listening, more comments correllating with better (hopefully) music.
what ya think?

Should be penalized... We all gave him good credit on his musicianship and his band, and then hes going around to threads just flat out saying they suck. This does not show good conduct...

ou need to be a member for 24 hours. By simply reading less than one page of posts, you would have learned that. Try again tomorrow.

Can anyone tell me how to put my mp3. files online. And can it be free ? The file I want to post is around 800 K. Thanks in advance.
GimmeSlack12

Posting mp3's online requires server space. Google mail or GMail offers about 2 Gigs free, that should be enough for your 800kb file.

http://www.soundclick.com is a free service.
And i've a suggestion:
how about a sub forum, just for cover songs?
Speaking of COVER SONGS:
Looking through the song contests and only found a cover contest where it was whatever cover you submit is in the contest.
How about a cover contest about ONE PARTICULAR SONG? I think that would be easier to compare than a shiiteload of songs from different artists.
I would start the thread if okay, we`d see who`s up for it, and settle on a cover. I would prefer a classic rock song and name the thread "Classic Rock Song Cover Contest."
If it`s been done already, I guess I missed it.

OK, i'm unsure if this is the proper place to post but w/e. My band was looking into getting recording stuff, mixer drum mics etc... It will be hooked up to a computer so i was wondering what the best mixer for the buck would be. 7 drum mics will be hooked up, 2 vocals, 2 guitar, 1 bass. I was looking at a behringer but then we would need a preamp, correct? We are looking to spend less than $1000 for mixer/programs/drum mics.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry If I missed something big here. But why is this thread invisible. I want it back really, its a great place to get opinions on your music and to also to expand musical tastes. If its lacking in popularity then please say so that a poll or petition can be set up. Thank you.

Yeah. I check in every once in a while, but this place is pointless without this thread now. I think I have quite a lot to offer to this section. I won't spend much time here if it doesn't come back. I know, this is a dude with only 130+ posts, so my opinion may not matter much. This was the only reason the board was any good.

JayLink is permanently banned, so I would recommend closing this thread:
http://sputnikmusic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=501329
Because no one is smart enough to realize he's not replying anymore and it really just doesn't serve a purpose unless someone else is going to take it over.

JayLink requested that his account be deleted. All YDload could do was perma ban him, JayLink left the mx community because of a handful of immature disrespectul children. I am his guitarist Michael. I already posted an explanation to his leaving mx forums. If there is a problem with the thread,I will take it over.

Same thing here. People say its a 24 hour lock but hell it's been over 48.
And I've looked in a lot of places with no answers.
Broken_Link and Lucasvar are both in the correct user group and should be able to create threads now. saiyoucho, you registered yesterday. Just wait a little longer :)
EDIT: I see Lucasvar has posted some threads.
