Opeth, Black metal (for poetry not satanism) so far for lyrics.

For music, its very classic rockish, like scorpions, a little touch of olden metallica, and recently some maiden. Also sonata arctica. that's all at the moment.

whamming it up.

For me... musically, I am all over the map.

The Beatles
U2
John Mayer
Dashboard
Brand New
Weezer
Taking Back Sunday
Coldplay

Most of my songs sound alt/indie, if I had to put them into a category.

Lyrically:

Morrissey
John Lennon
Bob Dylan
Jesse Lacey

...that's it. They make me want to write lyrics, but I don't think my lyrics turn out like theirs at all... (though I have had some people say my lyrics are Mozza-esque at times  ). oh well.

And upthebracket: I <3 your influences.
