I work there. A lot of them are actually sent to the factories and refurbished there, but some aren't. Generally they work fine and you can get a 6 month warranty on it for like $11 (unless it differs store to store). Otherwise, it just has a 14 day guarantee like everything else in the store.

Yeah, I used to work at Gamestop, and it went the same way with us. Usually around the holidays we'll sell every system in the store used or brand new just because people are usually so desperate to get their hands on one.

They're dropping in price so much these days though that you might as well get a new one since they're only a little bit more. And the new ones you can usually get in a package with an extra controller and a couple of games. But if you're that concerned with the price, you could just get a refurbished one. I've got a refurbished XBox and it's fine.

Just check the sellers feedback, it's not that hard to find a good seller to buy from.

I bought my Xbox used from EBgames and it's been perfect. It's just like owning a new one, came in perfect condition and I have the one year no questions asked warranty on it. Only cost me 100 bucks.

i got lucky and when I bought a used one. Just a few minutes before i got to the store, somebody came in and traded in their brand new xbox, hadn't even used it. I dont know why he wasnt able to return it but i got it with a new box and everything. anyways, ive owned several used systems, I only had problems with one ps2 and I took it back and exchanged it for a perfect one.

I'd never buy a newer console off ebay. Too easy to destroy a console these days. I buy lots of old games/systems off ebay, and haven't had any problems with it yet.

You could probably buy a brand new system off ebay for the same price as a used one at EB.

I bought a used X-BOX with the warranty. The controller didn't work, but I had no trouble getting a new one, then the one I got didn't work, but once again, no trouble in getting another one. The XBOX itself hasn't crapped on me, I've had it for about 4 months now.
