The LSU head coach who's led the school to several championships will be the Dolphins head coach next season.

w00t this rocks. being a dolphins fan i'm all excited now. this guy was a disciple of bill belichick which is always good. he's a smart man and he's been given COMPLETE control of the organization. i'm sure he'll use the draft and free agency wisely to make the dolphins competitors next season. can't wait.

He'll do great, just like all the other college coaches who jumped to the pro level.

He'll fare better than Spurrier, that's for sure :p

He was making quite the pretty penny at LSU, but now it's even moreso at Miami.

Ricky Williams did **** over that franchise this past off-season, though...

The Dolphins still have a lot more problems. They need a quarterback, Drew Brees would be good, somebody to replace Ricky, and nobody knows whats up with David Boston. Defense is pretty good, but those major offensive problems need to be fixed.

Their run defense is like, 30th in the league; that needs to be fixed as well.

A.J. Feeley is actually a decent quarterback, but his offensive line and running game are horrible. However, because Miami's front office has been abysmal (and has been ever since Jimmy Johnson took over), they once again have almost no draft picks this year, so they can't get young cheap talent via the draft.

Drew Brees will be the Chargers' QB for a long time.

Philip Rivers will be traded.

Anyways.. I personally dislike the move. Saban basically said that he wanted to stay at LSU for a long time after the championship last year. He was perfect for that school. I believe that the Dolphins will be a decent team next year, and decent in the years to come, but not comparable to LSU. LSU is a consistantly good college team.

But if it's what he wants, good for him.

Saban won't be a flop like Steve Spurrier was or Rick Pitino (as a Celtics fan, that man infuriates me to no end) was in the NBA, but he'll fade into mediocrity in Miami. There's such a huge difference between the NFL and college ball; in the NFL, Pete Carroll single-handedly derailed a Patriots team that had just gone to the Super Bowl. In college football, he's considered a genius and is coaching the top ranked team in the country.

i think its definately too early to tell. all i know is that the 2005-06 dolphins aren't going to look anything like this years. yeah, we have a good defense but everybody is getting pretty old. madison, surtain, taylor, seau, zach thomas are losing a step. i'd stick with aj feeley at QB and just get him a decent o line and a strong back.

The defense is still holding up pretty well though. Seau and Thomas are on their way out in a year or three I think though, because they are the oldest two to my knowledge. But I think the rest will stick around for a little while...

Feeley's gotten better, but I still don't know. I know Fiedler is pretty worthless though...

Morris hasn't been a horrible back lately, but the o-line needs to beef up a bit I think.

I give him 3 seasons to fix up the Phins, if it's the 4 season and they don't make it deep in the playoffs, he's a flop

The Dolphins never go deep in the playoffs, though, so he can't be considered a "flop" compared to his predecessors.
