I know this game is old, but I just bought it now on the gamecube and I find it to be surprisingly an awesome game. It's like a new experiance, they added so much and I was continually surprised everytime I entered a room and found something new.
The stronger zombies scared the living s'hit out of me! I wasn't expecting those at all! *shudders*
Anyway, talk about this game here. What did you think of it? Is it this impressive throught the game, or does it water down after awhile? I don't even have the helmet key yet so yeah...
Discuss the game.

Have they improved the voice acting then? That was the primary drawback in resi 1. The atmosphere was ruined by actors sounding like they had been forced into the school play.

Yeah, it's alot better. I don't find myself cringing everytime Barry makes one of his "puns" anymore. They talk more like adults here.

I bought it, then sold it.
It's really good but i found it too hard, actually it wasnt theat hard its just that i couldnt find any shotgun ammo so i gave up...
The dogs were scary though.

Yeah. You've got to conserve the shotgun ammo alot. I found myself running out of it as soon as I encountered the Crimson Head Zombies. Those things are horrifying!

Did anyone else find it easier just to avoid zombies instead of killing them? I only killed like 3 zombies so far in the game and as a result I have like 200 handgun bullets, 2 shotgun bullets (because I suck) and I haven't even used my gernade launcher yet.

Ive never liked resident evil because of the fixed camera angles and blocky chunky control system, are the new games better ? like RE4 and such ?

They've improved it alot. It's still not perfect mind you, but it's more comfortable and flows better.

Resident Evil is pretty much my favourite game ever - I didn't get to play the remake very much (I took my Gamecube back to the shop the day after I bought it, out of guilt) but what I played was awesome. I love how they added more stuff in aswell. The graphics are just beautiful too.
The voice acting was the best thing about the original ;)

RE4 is going to have a complete overhaul of the controls/cameras. Instead of it having the player moving around a bunch of static backgrounds with static scenery, it's more like a first-person game. The camera looks over the shoulder of your character now and it's meant to be a lot more fluid.
I'm so happy it's coming out on PS2 now aswell :thumb: although how can you call it Resident Evil when it has no zombies? It just isn't right.

I can understand why they chose European villagers..I live in a village..its like Daun of the dead here every day!

Oh. So it's like that "Rage" virus from 28 Days Later? That's kinda cool... It'd seem weird without zombies though...

Anyway. I've just gotten to the Crimson Elder boss and he spooked me out quite a bit. He's surprisingly easy to kill though. Ah well, I loved blowing that hunched decomposing corpse into 40 peices.
