Owners of the new Slimmer PS2 please come in this thread.

So I was trying to install the online capabilities on my PS2 and my brother comes and says don't install it because we have to pay for it. I said we don't have to pay money, so can someone that plays online on the new slimmer PS2 validate my answer.

i don't know about the slimmer, but the oldschool ps2 is free

You shouldn't have to pay. If you never gave out your credit card information then you wont have to pay.

I think the only things you have to pay for on the ps2 are specific games (like maybe everquest)

Yeah i heard that u have to pay the companies, like if u wanna play an EA game, u have to pay EA, but hey, its just i rumor. I dont know if its true.

You only have to pay for certain games. Like Socom 1 & 2 are free. But you got to pay for FFXI.
