Hey Im thinking about changing my cymbal line up a tad. I'd prefer just to expand, and I have the money too, but i cant really justify it. So I'm thinking about selling/trading my 18" AAX dark crash. Anyone interested? I'm looking for either cash, or bright crashes to match my A custom 19", preferably more A customs. I might do the same to my 16" k custom dark crash and splash...i like the contrast between my dark ride and hats to bright crashes.

I just began drumming 5 days ago but only got the standard cymbals with my new set.
I'm planning to buy new cymbals this summer and i'm not sure what I should go for. I can't buy it from local stores, way to expencive, so i have to order them from US or with in EU that's why i can't test them my self.
I'll be playing rock like Smashing Pumpkins, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Mars Volta. What should i go for?
i currently have a 14" AAX studio crash, 16" XS20 rock crash and an 18" AAX stage crash. Now i'm looking for a new ride that would sound well with these with a washy sound to them. Right now i'm in the middle of looking at either a 20" HHX stage ride or a 21" HH Raw-Bell Dry ride. Any suggestions?

I can't speak for the HHX stage ride, but I can tell you that I have the 21" HH Raw-bell dry ride and it is freakin' sweet. It's really versitle. The only problem I have with that ride is it's kinda quiet, and had a little more wash than I was hoping for - but the wash is kind of a welcome sound now. It gives my set a little more something.
Anyway, I like the 21" HH Raw-Bell Dry ride. It's what the name implies - Dry. It's not TOO washy, but then again, any cymbal is going to give wash.
Sorry about this lengthy post, but in any case, I would choose the Dry ride. I think it sounds great - just try them both in a store some time.

The cymbal is in great shape, its got a few stick marks, a few fingerprints...it sells new for 169 so im really just taking offers on it...i was hoping to trade it straight up for a 17" a custom that someone else had used but in fine condition, because they have the same new sale price...but i ll take offers on it. I'll post a good picture of it soon.

Anyone got the K/Z 14' hi-hats? I want something dark, and the wash shouldn't be too tonal or musical if you know what I mean, I hated the 13' A New Beats, the wash was too tonal and ringy. But I want something with a really nice thick, low chick sound. Should fit with pop/rock, classic rock/alternative, and the 'chick' should be funky.

a rock weight ride would be a Heavy.

Alright johnny...I need your expertise once again.
I recently went and store tested some cymbals...some Paistes, Zils, and Sabians. The one I had anticipated testing the most was the HH Raw Bell Dry Ride. I love the bow sound and the bell sound...but I don't think it has enough volume. Also the wash was very...unmusical? I'm just not so sure that it would fit in well with my HHX Hats and Vault Crash. Any suggestions?

well, it is a dry ride, and thus, the wash and volume will be diminished. if you are looking for more volume, in a similar sound, try and find a Hand Hammered Heavy ride. (or K. Zildjian Heavy Ride). it should be fairly low pitched, but the weight will be a bit heavier, and the bell a bit bigger. (more volume, a bit more wash). technically, stick definiton should be increased too, because its going to be heavier....hope that helps.

of those two, the Duo crash will be the dryer and should be the darker sounding. myself, i'd take the HHX Stage though. it will be a bit more dominant sounding than the K Custom however...so maybe also look into the Hand Hammered Medium-Thin crashes.

I play mostly rock and metal music, so I would prefer to avoid thin cymbals..Current cymbal setup is : Sabian 17" AA medium crash, 11" max splash, 20" AA rock ride. Crash, something to compliment my current setup, looking for suggestions on both bright and dark crashes. And a trashy china around the 18-20 size, as I've got a 12" wuhan. Thanks

Well i'm in love with my new 14'' sig sound edge hats...suprisingly the 14'' sig sound edges are higher pitched than the 13'' sig dark crisp hats. The sound edges' are cleaner sounding with a smoother wash and tight as hell "chick" while the dark crisp has more of a crispy wash and chick as the name applies.
I'm deciding which hats I want as the main and which one is going on the cable hat...but they both sound Delicious!!! you can't make a wrong choice between these two high-hats!!! :thumb:

Well, here's my first post... :)
I currently have all B8's besides my AA China and AA splash, and although I'm probably going to be buying a rack next, I like the idea to this thread and think I'll see what others reccomend for me.
I'd like to upgrade my B8 crashes first though. I'm having trouble explaining what I want though. My band mates want something loud, and I'd agree on that for gigs. But when at home practicing, I like to play different styles (I play metal with my band) and I'd like my crashed to be warm sounding and kind of mix well with my drums, especially the bass drum. I read an article of Modern Drummer on the new Sabian Vault line, and they sounding good (though I've never played one) but I'm not sure.
So any suggestions? I'd prefer Sabian cymbals, but I'll listen to other suggestions too.
Thanks! :)

for metal, i'd advise AGAINST the Vault series.
your best bets would be AA Medium Crashes (17" +) - they will cut through your metal, but wont sound bad or obtrusive when struck lightly.
they are a fairly bright sounding cymbal, but compared to your B8's, they will sound warmer.
gennerally, for metal, Bright sound are the choice, but you can look into the HHX stage Crashes or Hand Hammered Medium Crashes for darker tones. they will be a bit more expensive, but will be equally as thick, and loud as the AA's.

I'm in the market for two new cymbals. A ride and a [/b]china[/b].
Right now, I'm currently hitting an Zildjian A 20" Ping Ride. I really don't like the stick definition on it, it just starts to all wash out and blend into one sound. I'm looking for one with a nice sound (duh) and good stick definition. I'm thinking a K Custom, but I'd just like to see what ya'll think before I go to Sam Ash and check them out.
I've never had a China before, and I don't really wanna spend too much money on one (they arn't supposed to have the greatest sound, no?). I really have no idea what to look for in a China. I don't really want a WuHan, I've heard those break real easy, and I'm a fairly hard hitter.
Thanks.
bobby__johnny
04-18-2005, 06:54 PM
if you want more definiton than a Ping Ride, then K Custom is NOT what you want.
the only thing i can think of that has more sticking than any other ride on the face of this planet, is the A Zildjian Earth Ride. its a beast, and should be rather dry.
B8 Pro for the china. a bit more that that of a Wuhan, but less trash, more tone, and your normal 1 year warranty and brand name relaiability.

i dont feel like lurking this whole thread so im just gona post my question, sorry if its already been addressed
im considering going with a 21' sweet ride, but it comes in brilliant and trad. finishes. is there any diffrence between the 2 cymbals besides physical appearance?
Murd_666
04-19-2005, 02:06 PM
no i tried both types, the brilliant one is polished at high speed so it is very slightly thinner but the sound difference is unnoticeable....
bobby__johnny
04-19-2005, 02:06 PM
well, the 2 you will try will sound quite different, as hey are different cymbals
but assuming you tried a cymbal in traditional, and then added the brilliant afterwards, it should sound a bit smoother and glassier (only i tiny bit mind you) and the actual pitch would drop a bit....not to any audible difference mind you.
so basically, to the human ear, they should sound the same. to an oscilliscope, you would be seeing a slight change.
my opinion, go Traditional when possible...its MUCH easier to keep clean.

Hey, I'm in need of a new crash cymbal, and I don't know what to get. I know the best way is to go try them out at the store, but how about some advise?
I'm in a fairly hard rock band and I need a cymbal that can cut through the music. I have an A series 18'' that sort of booms behind the music, I need a cymbal to stick through the song. Obviously an A custom would be nice, I looked at an A custom Fast crash, but that decay is so quick, I need something to stick around longer..... A custom Projection?
My cymbals are K custom ride 20'', 18'' A crash and 14'' A New Beat hats. What cymbal with the above qualities would go well with these other cymbals. Im looking mainly at Zildjians, or Paistes under $200, any advice will help.

whats the main difference between the AA, AAX and HHX dry rides??
the AA has a bigger bell than the AAX. i imagine it'd be a tad louder and brighter sounding too.
the AAX should have tighter definition though. i have one myself. a very shimmery tone to it when crashed that i dont particularly care for. but sticking sounds tight, bright and defined. the bell, though small, is bright and cutting.
the HHX should be similar in presence, but be darker sounding than both of the others.

you must realize that when they record, the sounds are being run though mics, EQ's and most likely a very talented sound guy. and also, all cymbals sound unique, so what may sound GREAT on a CD, could sound HORRIBLE in person. thats why i suggest the 18" AA Medium. its a fairly standard sounding cymbal. bright, powerful, but not obtrusive. cant go wrong with it in any setting really.

Try and see if you can get some B8's or save up for B8 Pro/Pro Sonix Line....Also Look into some of the starter cymbals from paiste, I would recommend the 802 or 502 line but i think they discontinued them...also look into meinl....
Also I'm looking for a Ride that has a controllable overtones, something with a Bright cutting Bell, with a bow that is also crashable, but when crash it has more of a darker feel, I was thinking maybe an HHX Evolution but i wanted to get some input first. It doesn't really matter what the size/whieght is although i play mostly metal but i will almost any cymbal for anything and every thing....

Hey, I play in punk/pop-punk band that at the moment plays small, quiet gigs of around 100-200 people. I need fairly cheap ride cymbal. I was looking at the Paiste Alpha power ride. Would this be ok? Any other suggestions, prefably Paiste but I will settle for any other make. I'll probably be buying from http://adcdrums.co.uk

if you had to guess hats that were close, what would you say?
hmm, well, its a Roland kit, and that would lead me to beleive that all sampled sounds are Sabian cymbals, and judging the tightness of that closed sound they arent your average pair. heres a few models that i can think of, and maybe try em yourself.
AA Fusion Hats, Flat Hats, Sizzle Hats
HHX Power Hats
AAX Fast hats, Fusion Hats
Hand Hammered Fusion Hats, EQ Hats
although, they are fairly bright sounding, so you can probably rule out the HHX and Hand Hammered Models.

fusion hats, i'll check those, thanks :D
bobby__johnny
04-28-2005, 06:08 PM
really though, that could be ANY fast, tight sounding hat.
or it could have not been a direct sample, and a purely man made digi-sound.
basically, what i'm trying to say, is if you want to find a sound like it, try any and all small, vented or edged hi-hats.

I have been looking for a kit of cymbals; but I have decided to just buy them individually because I can get better quality like that. I know I want the Paiste Sound Edge Hats, But I'm not sure of what ride I want. I like the sound of the HHX Groove ride. Does anybody have any cymbals that sound like it? I bought a new 17" Vault crash a few weeks ago, and want to get another crash that would go along good with it. Right now my only other crash is a 16" XS20 Rock crash which i want to replace with a AA/AAX crash soon. What 16" crash from AA/AAX would sound good with the Vault. I play mostly Alternative Hard Rock stuff. I would prefer a crash with a higher pitch that cuts out pretty fast, but still be loud.

Right-o, Im after some new crashes, they have to be a 16" and a 19", dont ask why. I need them to be affordable (around the £100 each mark) and a nice "crashy" tone. Ive tried pearl and stagg ones before, the pearl were too dull and the stagg was too trashy, so something in between would be nice. I quite like the sound of Pro Sonix ones so something along those lines would be nice.
Im also looking for a 22" ride. Looking to spend around £200 on this. Needs to be pingy with very little over tone. These cymbals will be used in punk and possibly ska music.

what kind of currancy. If it's canadian save up a bit more and get an AA 16" Medium/Rock crash, an 19" AA metal-x/AAX Metal Crash, for the 22" Ride look into an AA heavy ride or an AAX Metal Ride. I won't really matter if ther is to much ping cause the guitars would probbaly drown it out, or if you want some thing now the XS20 Rock crashes and Pro Rock crashes are pretty nice sounding. keep the ride though its only 10 dollars over...

My b-day is coming up pretty soon here and I would like to upgrade my ride ( from a B8 Pro). My current cymbal line-up, minus the B8 Pro ride, is:

16" Sabian El Sabor Crash
12" Wuhan Splash
17" Sabian Vault Crash
and 12" Wuhan China
I play mainly classic rock but I would like a somewhat versatile cymbal. I also like loud, cutting bells. So, what is a good ride for me? Oh, no real price restrictions unless it is like a $400 K Constantinoble and I don't care what brand as long as it can be found at guitar center.

Quick question on what cymbal you guys think would be a useful thing to get next.
I have...
16" crash (sabian pro)
18" crash (paiste 502)
20" ride (stagg)
10" splash (stagg)
16" china (zildjin zbt)
and 14" hats (sabian B8)
basically i was either thinking of a second pair of hats or maybe a 15" crash, Failing that i could upgrade my cymbals as some of them arent very good (china is ZBT, although that doesnt matter as i dont really use it as much as others), if i did upgrade i was thinking along the lines of sabian AA and AAX.
Or i could get a second floor tom (either 14 or 18")

say you bought the stage pack. You get stage crash/hats/ride. You might not like the stage crash as much as the rock crash and then you'll be wanting to upgrade and costing yourself more money. Unless you like all 3 in the pack the best in which case gte it.

as of now i own 1 crash its a 18 inch full crash, and the shops around me do not carry any cymbal bigger than that in size unless ordered. i would like to know if i should go with the 18 power crash or have them order the 19 inch full crash.
also what sound charecteristics differ from 19 full to 18 inch power?
thanks alot
in this case id go with the 18" power...they will amtch up fine, i think having the same cymbal 1" is a little wasteful...however you could try to get your hands on a 16" full crash, i dont think they make 20's...or what i would do is sell the 18" on ebay, and goto the store and get the 17" and 19 " full crash. i really like odd sizes for some reason.

Sorry fellaz but again the Paiste Dimensions power crashes ownz the Paiste Signature power crashes. I had an 18'' Paiste full crash for awhile but it didn't cut through the music like I wanted and it was one of the only cymbals I've ever cracked.

say you bought the stage pack. You get stage crash/hats/ride. You might not like the stage crash as much as the rock crash and then you'll be wanting to upgrade and costing yourself more money. Unless you like all 3 in the pack the best in which case gte it.
hmm i'll try before i buy just to make sure.

What's a more versatile, controllable ride, 21" A Rock, or 22" A Ping? It needs to be useful in a variety of settings, but be strong enough to be heard over 2 guitars and a bass in a live setting.
I have a Sabian AAA, Its a really controllable ride, Does a great job.. Not too expensive either :D

im not gonna go with another cymbal in full line cause i want something to cut through 2 guitars a bass and singer. but also sound in compliance with the 18 full.
sorry you guys for how many posts i have in the last few days on here, but cymbals are big investments

I can update the hats to 14" AAX stage hats ($210 cdn) or to a 21" HH Raw bell dry ride ($255 cdn)

Unless the ride upgrade is quite a bit cheaper than the hat upgrade, I'd get the new hats first because I use them a lot more.
I play B8s except for my AAX crash. I would upgrade hats first, but I found a $130 used AA raw ride. Should I buy it?

i'd say go for the ride. i've played some XS20 hats that were more than good sounding. the rides arent too great, and the crashes are hit or miss....go with the ride first.

i went to a local shop yesterday to check out the dimension line when i was informed that it is no more, they replaced it with the big beat series. any other recommendations for a powerful crash that will blend well with 18 inch full .
it does not have to be a paiste any brand would be ok.

Recently I have been looking onto adding a few cymbals to my drum set. Currently I have 8 Zildjian cymbals and 2 CB cymabls (The CBs came with my first set, I like them because they sound like small chinas) Anyways I have found a cymbal brand entitled Wuhan and I was interested in them. 2 crashs (16' and 18') and a china (18') for 99.00. I first thought they may sound like **** but after reading a few reviews I read that they are best for the metal/black metal scene which is perfect because I play that style of music. So anyways I was going to get the following:
CYMBAL PACK 1-99.99
-16' Crash
-18' Crash
-18' China
CYMBAL PACK 2-99.99
-17' Crash
-19' China
-20' China
CYMBAL PACK 3-64.99
-09' Splash
-12' Splash
So I will have a combination of Zildjian ZBT/ZXT and Wuhan, what do you think? I am only 14 and I can't really spend alot of money on Zildjian crash packs because like two crashs are what around 300.00, when I can get 8 cymbals for 276.00 with taX (Not counting the stands)

Alrighty, I've come to ask a question. Now, I realise that the decision is entirely mine, but I wouldn't mind a little guidance. I'm planning on getting a crash cymbal. My primary crash actually, as I don't have one yet. My current setup is 14" A Mastersound hats and 21" Raw Bell Dry Ride. I've narrowed it down to three crashes, having tried them out a bit in my local dum shop. They are:
Sabian 18" HHX Evolution Crash
Sabian 18" Vault Crash
Paiste 18" Signature Full Crash
I'm currently leaning towards the Sabians, particularly the HHX, because although I like the Paiste, they're more consistant than the Sabians, so even if by the time I have the cash it's gone, I can order one in, confident it'll sound almost identical. I'm leaning towards the HHX particularly because I like the lower pitch crash sound, as it'll speak quickly and then fade and blend into the music. However, I need to think about the band I'm playing in too. I play in essentially and indie band, influenced from all over, but particularly by new British indie (Bloc Party, The Rakes et al) and so I'm thinking the Vault may cut more in the band situation.
Now you've read my essay, what do you say? Which would you recommend?
bobby__johnny

none of the above. if you like the lower tones, and are playing (i'm assuming) some higher energy stuff, look into the 17" HHX Stage Crash. it will be warm, but should have some cut too.

If you already have a set of cymbals and are trying to replace bad ones i say take your 300 and buy an amazing pair of hi hats...if you ahve any money left over put that towards saving up for and amazing ride, and then crash.....however if your getting cymbals for the first time....i have no idea, i only ever had Pulse percussion, but maybe you could get paiste 802's for that much?

have you tried out any 18"aax dark crashes...?
Also I have a question for myself.
I'm thinking of changing my cymbal set-up a bit. right now its
8"k custom splash
12" wuhan china(of course who doesnt have one)
13" paiste sig dark hats
16" k custom splash
18" aax dark crash
19" A custom crash
21" raw dry ride
22" aax metal ride
ok heres the deal. im very happy with my rides, they are so polar opposite and yet they dont clash so they are perfect. i love my hi hats and my china and my splash(though i d like to get more splashes, id like to have 3 ) the only thing i have a psuedo "problem" with are my crashes. I mean i love them all and they all sound great. BUT , the a custom doesnt sound great with the dry ride, and it doesnt sound great with the other crashes, and yet i still think i like that crash the most. SO in short, im thinking of changing my crash cymbal set up and i know that i should just goto the store and check em all out, but i wouldnt be able to do that for a while, and i wouldnt even buy anything for a while so im just looking for opinions and suggestions...what three crashes would you buy to match my other cymbals>?

Try a different one? Are you under the impression that my local drum shop stocks more than one of the same size of cymbal? In fact, you'd be mistaken to think that it stocks more than one of any given kind of cymbal (by "kind", I mean, for example, AAX Dark Crash, A Medium etc.). The most of any one "kind" of cymbal I've seen is 3 Vault crashes, and that was about 2 weeks ago because they just came out. Two are now gone.
have you tried out any 18"aax dark crashes...?
Perhaps I didn't make it clear. I have tried every crash cymbal in my (one and only) local drum shop. The next nearest drum shop would involve going to Glasgow, and it's just a different branch of the same shop. The next nearest one is probably in Newcastle. Technically, I'd be going to a whole other country. I have essentially narrowed down to 2 crashes I like. I was asking for anyones opinion as to which may suit my chosen style of music better. If all anyone's going to do is suggest other symbals, I'll thank you for reading, and ask you to help someone else instead. I don't mean to sound like a jackass, but there's a reason I asked about those cymbals specifically.

Aw man, I read it back, and I sound like an ***. And it's not that the shop's terrible, it's just that what's on display is what they have. They have about 20 Zildjians, 25 Sabians and a smattering of Paistes and Staggs, but that's it. They can order in, but as cymbals are fickle instruments, it may not sound like I want. So, I picked the ones I liked best, and am looking for a little guidance. If no one can really help, then that's allright, I just wondered if anyone could.
Also, it's not that I'm not open to suggestions, but anything you suggest will either:
a - not be there or
b - have already been rejected
I'll most likely play them all again, just to make sure, but it's mainly between those 2 Sabians. I've ruled out the Paiste for now because they are consistant, and I can get one of them in and be sure it'll sound good.

he bought it from a studio pat methany used to record an album, and is the actual cymbal on the album.

Possibly and 18" Speicial Dry crash Zildjian. That way you get that earthy sound, but being a larger model it won't be as fast of a crash.

Any suggestions are appreciated, doesn't have to be Zildjian, but Paiste are hard to come by around here (have to grive bout an hour to get to a store with a good stock) and are also expensive, and I'll be paying for them myself.

A bit ago I asked what you guys recomended as crashes. I think I've decided that my main crashes are going to be Sabian AA's, 17" + 19".
However... I realized that I'd much rather upgrade my B8 ride before any other cymbals since it use my ride far more than I do any other cymbal. And last band practice, I was really hating the sound I was getting from it. Usually I'm fine with it, but for some reason I just hated it. Anyways...
Here's what I'm looknig for:
- loud and clear bell
- clean sound hitting the bow so paterns are easily heard (sorry if that's not the proper name... I mean the part around the bell :))
- can be crashed on and still make a nice sound
thanks!
Oh, and I'd prefer Sabian but I am open to other brands.

Here goes,
Zildjian Oriental 16" China Trash
Zildjian 16" A Medium Crash.
Zildjian 21" A Rock or Ping ride.
Zildjian 8" A Splash.
Zildjian 13" or 14" A Mastersound Hi-hats (not sure what size sounds better).
Zildjian 18" A Medium Crash.
Keeping, 8" ZBT Splash (love the sound) and 20" Ride. Going to put a hammer to my ZBT crash, and also keep the hi-hats as second hats over near my floor tom.
What do you and any body else think? :thumb:

I just go the Zil A New Beats (14"). They are a great high quality all around sound. So sweet :thumb: (considering they replaced zbt's).
Thanks, I'll be sure to check em out.

sabian alternative for zildjian's 18" K crash/ride?
or any other rides that sounds similar and has a nice crashable wash?

Any particular reason you want a Sabain alternative? Why not just get the K?

I'm looking to replace my Solars. I play metal, rock, punk, emo, screamo, hard rock, etc. I pretty much decided what I want for hats and ride. I just need help for the crashes.
I was thinking : 16" Vault, 17" Vault, 18" Vault, 19" AAXplosion
What do you think of that combination, and would you suggest other cymbals (try to stick with Sabian)

You may want to try 18" AA Medium Crash, and I'm pretty sure that Bobby Jonny will tell you to stay away from the Xplosion crash. You also may want to try out an 18" HH Medium Crash. Just a thought though. Absolutely nothing wrong with the Vault series, but just for some more variety.
As ever, always try out cymbals in person.

I said I'm pretty sure Bobby Jonny would say that. He's not a fan of the Xplosion crashes. But hey, if you like it, then by all means. It's ultimately your choice. If you like it, get it!

good choices, though instead of taking a hammer to a perfectly fine cymbal, sell it for cash. or if you wanna feel eco-friendly, clean it up, and return it to Zildjian with a note saying to recycle it.

your **** right i'm not :)

Bobby, may I ask why you're not a fan of the AAXplosions? Bad experience or you just don't like the sound?

Hi all, there's a good chance i'll be getting a new crash on Sunday, but basically I don't really know what I want. I'm gonna go and try some out, but what do you think would go well with a 21" A sweet ride? I play a lot of pop/rock and also some classic rock, and i'm only using hi-hats, a ride and a crash so i'm gonna get an 18" or a 17" and i'm probably looking at the A or K range, A customs are a little too shiny and slick sounding for me, I like something with a bit of character and probably medium or thin, not too much high end. I was considering....
Avedis thin crash
Avedis medium thin crash
K dark crash thin
K dark crash medium thin
and maybe an Avedis medium crash but that's probably a little heavy. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

i know very little about which hi hats are good or what kind of sounds they give off, but im debating between the zildjian mastersound and new beats.
Which one is the better buy? Is there any other hats i should look into?

Not many people on here like the Mastersounds, and so, out of those two, you'll get told the New Beats.
However, it may help is if you tell us what you are going to play, what your budget is, if you have any, and what brand loyalties, preferences you have (if any). Additionally, you may wish to describe the kind of sound you're after.

Im at around a 200 dollar budget and i play mostly rock, but would like to learn how to play other forms of music such as jazz or funk. Im looking for hats that make a solid "chick" sound, but i really have no clue what sounds distinguish what genre of music.

go with New Beats. they're rather versatile.
Avedis thin crash
Avedis medium thin crash
K dark crash thin
K dark crash medium thin
the A. Zildjian Medium-thin or Medium Crashes are your best bets.
how is the Wuhan 18" crash? i tested it a bit like a week ago, but i can't REALLY remember how it sounds... good for metal/rock? worth $130? thanks

Well first off let me introduce myself. My name is Scott and I've been drumming for about 6 months on my pacific fs birch kit, which I love, and I've been visiting the forums for quite a while but just decided to register. Mainly because I need some help. I have a limited knowledge of cymbals, but am looking to replace my whole setup. Currently I have B8 hats, a avedis rock ride, and a AAX metal crash and I really don't like any of them. My buddy and I are slowly forming our band and I need something that will fit better. The crash is too loud, the hats are just low end, and the ride is way too washy for me. Were going to be playing stuff like Weezer and Say Anything. I don't like genres but pop rock I guess. Also some Dave Matthews stuff mainly because I love Beauford. Anyways I'm looking for 2 crashes, hats, ride and maybe a splash. Thanks a lot for your help.
