Not that early, I read somewhere they think it will be released Spring of '06

Just imagine all the graphics and new space for games it will have. GTA could be made up of 3 states!

It's still going to be DVD based I would imagine, so there won't be any more "space" for games, just better and quicker graphics. I've heard Spring/Summer '06 also though.

nah, it ain't coming out next year. 2006 for sure. ps2 is making a crap load of money and i would imagine they wanna milk it for everything. i know for sure that sony is going to incorporate blu-ray disc technology in the ps3 and that would be expensive to do in its first year on the market. it aint coming out in 2k5 for sure.

PS 3 won't be out for a while, PS2 still has a lot of life left inside of it anyway. Expect the three main powers of gaming to come out with their respective consoles around the same time period.

Yeah I read that somewhere. They are making loads of money on the PS2 so they are gonna let that sell. It was supposed to be out for next Christmas but they changed the date.

Actually, I believe they're using the new Blu-Ray dvd which holds quite a bit more than a standard dvd. It can hold about 25GB on a single layer. GTA San Andreas was on a dual layer standard dvd, imagine how much space a multiple layer blu-ray disc can hold. :thumb:

Xbox's are really hard to get now since the holiday season and everywhere is sold out. Luckily my dad has "connections" and he got one. The soonest you can get one now is like in 4 to 6 weeks. :upset: But I'm getting one so I don't care :D

Oh..I'm uh typing in the wrong thing...ok well the PS3 is going to be way better than the PS2 since they'll figure out that everyone likes Xbox live and sort of copy that idea and get more games for online which are funner. :thumb:

It's still going to be DVD based I would imagine, so there won't be any more "space" for games, just better and quicker graphics. I've heard Spring/Summer '06 also though.


There will be more space, GTA: SA pretty much maxed out most of what the PS2 can do, the graphics engine was used immensly, there will be more "space" for longer games, more weapons etc.. whatever game it is

I know the ps2 has been out a while, but to me it seems like its still very new. I must be getting old.
Seems like the Ps1 was out for beards before they brough along ps2.
Or maybe it's because, in my opinion, there isn't as many classic games for the PS2 like there was for PS1. I dunno. Discuss. It seems that way to me.

ALso, I hope they dont call them all xbox 2, PS3, it sounds ****ing terrible. Its like bad movie sequels with game consoles, urrgh.

That pic was an old rumor. It was created by a French art student and had most of the internet community fooled about a year ago. There's a whole page of phony concept designs.

Not much has actually been said about it. The Cell processor will power it, and Nvidia is handling the graphics processor. I think the PS3 will supposedly use blu-ray discs, "cutting edge technology", which can hold 25GB on a single layer disc, and 50GB on a double layer. I think the average DVD holds only 4 or 5 GB.

More details on the PS3 should gradually keep coming out, and things should peak off with the unveiling at E3 in May.
