Well there were several add-ons to the original Half Life so it's probably safe to say there will be add ons, and there was like 5 years in between HL1 and HL2 so I guess we'll have to wait for a bit and see if there will be a third.

you can't seriously be hoping for a 3rd already. the second just came out! mods will hopefully (and probably) extend its replayability and lifespan. I wouldn't worry about HL3...yet.

I didn't enjoy the ending at first, because I never played the original Half Life and really had no idea what the hell was going on the entire time.

Now that I've played HL and gotten all the backstory it's a more satisfying ending.

is a 2.2 ghz athlon xp comp, 512 mb ram, geforce fx 5200 128 mb good enough to run half life 2 flawlessly at a decent graphics setting?

Um, considering HL3 is already in development, it can be safely said that there will be more of Gordon Freeman around.
