I'm sure someone here has had a few mishaps at gigs that are funny enough to warrant reading about...

Has the lead guitarist leaned back that inch too far in his solo and gone over on his arse?

Did the drummer poke himself in the eye with the stick and have to be taken to hospital?

Or perhaps your lead singer got into a fight with a heckler?

Come on, let's hear 'em! :D

we had a guest rhythm guitarist who dropped his pick like 10 seconds into the song and had to play with his fingers. he cut them to ****, wasn't a pretty sight.

In one of the few gigs I've ever played (No band anymore) I mucked up

It was at a big party bout 200 people

We spent awhile setting up and I was extremely nervous, I'd joined the band a week before and had a week to learn the 5 songs

I went to play the 4 bars of the drum intro and my limbs went funny and I hit everything at once....it sounded s h i t

 so embarrased

It was ok though :) I had my double pedal so I just did a few rolls and people forgot bout it

*wipes brow*

lol My lead singer in one of my old bands got in a fight with a heckler. Well it wasn't os much a fight as our guitarist beating the crap out of him, but the heckler did throw the first punch. lol there was like a whole circle around the fight, but the rest of the band just kept playing :).

Infront of about 500 people- bass drum beater falls off, the kit was micced so it was obvious the beater had gone, the tech picked it up and put it in, happened twice in the song, but it was ready in time for a lick i did that was uber cool, everyone forgot the mistake and loved the lick

My hi-hat stand went loose, by the middle of the song my hi-hats were about a foot lower than my snare. Not too bad, and it was only in front of about 6 people.

My band was trying out for battle of the bands, and I forgot to put my cowbell on the set I was using, so we had to stop a minute in and restart.

Well once at a gig I turned the snares off on my kit (there where no drums in that part) because they where rattling like hell. When the drums came back in I forgot the snares where off so I got quite a shock when I hit that snare.

Another time I saw a guitarist who went to smash his guitar at the end of his bands set. It didn't break at all and he looked like a fool just standing there. Then he tried smashing it against a wall and then against the floor but it just wouldn't break. So in the end he slammed it on the floor and walked off.

I just got through playing a show and it was ****in funny/depressing/kinda cool. During the first song, we had a string break a minute into it(the A string wouldn't you know it), so we decided to play another song(new guitar.) During the intro, I hit my head on the guitarists guitar. I was gonna try and play it off like nothing had happened and pray that no one saw it, but I started bleeding. I think everyone expected us to stop but I just kept screaming with blood on my face and everything(kinda cool part.) During the next song, our bassist broke his guitar strap so had to borrow one. What none of us knew until the last song was that my hitting the guitar made it go out of tune, but we didn't know b/c he mostly was playing leads until the last song. Anyways, the show sucked but I got mad props for continuing to sing/scream all bloody and stuff.

Oh yeah, and I was having trouble during practice with keeping up with the rest of the band during one of the songs and they played it even faster at the show so I just screamed nonsense for the entire second verse(no one noticed I don't think.)

I've never gigged, but when I was watching a band, and the drummer skipped a beat or something, and he was playing that little bit faster than the rest of them, that was hilarious.

theres a movie floating around on the net of this guy that spins his guitar round his neck on the strap. He thinks he's hes all hardcore, then he does it again and the strap comes of and it hits his computer.

I was playing my second gig back in high school and was doing backup vocals. Everything went so well until the last song... When it was time for me to sing, I quickly found that I was off key and overcorrected like 7 times (at which point i started laughing). It sounded like I was being simultaneously punched in the balls and stabbed in the stomach.

Last year, my band was playing a show in this small bar. During the second verse, our singer choked on his own spit. We immediately stopped. Everyone was laughing except for the singer, who was coughing relentlessly. :D

On the way to a gig my cab slammed into the back-glass of my truck and shattered it. I was so pissed. I went inside the bar and hammered 4 shots of yager and 2 beers. Halfway through our first set someone in the audience started giving me shots. They just kept coming up and setting them on the monitor so I kept on drinking them.

I spent an hour in our "15min" break drinking with the owner of the bar and bull****ting. Second set comes around and I'm wasted. I played like ****, let my guitar ring after every song and slammed into the other guitar player like 50 times. THey were pissed.

To top it all off I got an open-container citation outside the bar while we were loading up equipment.

last year I had a school battle of the bands which was in front of a 1000 people and in the first song I was rocking out a bit too much and tripped and pull out guitarists lead out. That gig was aweful because followed by that it was non-stop vocal breaks n ****. Thank god it was only two songs.

The rhythm guitarists (I was playing lead) guitar fell right out of the strap and landed on the ground giving out a really loud echoing thump through the amp. We all kept playing while he got it back up. It sounded terrible. But it was a gig at a school, not like we were being recorded or anything (thank god!).

We were playin a gig at school and the chain on my drum pedal snaped!.... thank god it was near the end of the song.... so i just played the rest of the song kicking the bass drum... sounded like **** but o well... after that i just borrowed a pedal from the drummer of the other band

I was a "guest singer" with my husband's band. We were doing a Shania song, and you can lose your place oh, to easy. Anyway, the drummer came in to soon after the Insturmental and I'm just lost. So I jump down on the dance floor with the dancers and ad lib until the chorus LOL.

The amazing part is that out of all the people who came up after the set, only one had noticed the mistake! And he thought I handled it great, but hey, he was drunk!

3 weeks ago, we're playing a bar and the dance floor is rockin...and these 2 chicks are making out with each other right in front of me and the guitarist...then one approaches the stage, and yells into my ear (while I'm playing) asking me if I'm free after the gig. This was about 5 seconds before my bass solo in "Tainted Love" and I f*@$#ed the whole thing up. That wasn't the worst of it...my g/f is our band's backup singer, she saw the whole thing and how it effected me, and I've been cut-off ever since. :(

I was singing today with my band in front of the school (we were playing for a 'during school dance', yeah I know) and I stepped on the base of the mic stand and the stand leaned forward and nailed my tooth. It was funny and I immediatly pulled away and started laughing with no intention of finishing the verse, so the bassist did it for me.

I broke off part of my pedal and it went into the crowd. They passed it around for some reason, and some chick (bassist's bitch) that was standing in the back the whole time gave it to me after we got done playing. I have no idea why and how it got back there.

Our first proper gig. Playing with some other local bands at the footy club. We'll the whole set had gone pretty well and it comes time to play Song 2 by Blur. So our drummer starts going then stops. Starts, stops. Starts, stops. We all turn around and look at him. "Whats the beat?" Our singer got the crowd to call him a d|ckhead and threw a bottle of water at him.

After the show our singer punched the drummer in the arm. This wasn't smart. Our drummer is 6 foot 4, pretty buff and a bit of an angry bloke. He almost beat the crap out of him. Luckily he didnt and we're still going strong.

Played a gig once at school for talent show, and our lead guitarist was very wasted at the time. So I'm sitting back there behind the kit getting angrier and angrier because he can't do anything right, and eventually, I got so pissed that I threw my stick at him in the middle of the song. Unfortunatley, I didn't have any other normal sticks with me at the time, because I hadn't banked on throwing one, so I had to finish the rest of the song with one stick...sounded awful. Worst part is, when I threw the stick, it hit a girl in the audience :upset:

One time our lead guitarist was really getting into his part jumping around and all that, and as his solo approached he tried to stylishly turn on distortion by kicking his foot out as he was rocking. It didnt exactly work, he booted his effects pedal right off the stage and into the crowd. lol

Your singer was lucky. What a ****, everyone makes mistakes and the pressure of being on stage can make your memory go blank. Your drummer should have beat the crap out of him.

thats so stupid of your singer it makes me angry... jees... if your playing a gig you want to appear as a band, and not a bunch of small ego driven kids trying to brag by being able to play song 2

I've went out with my band's singer, Charlotte, twice. We're just friends now. Relationships in a band will distract you both from making awesome music :thumb:

Anyway, in terms of bloopers... Our drummer has a habit of throwing his sticks after the last song, and on one occasion, it bounced off the was-then bassist's head and hit me right in the master of ceremonies...

Well, she and I were dating before she was in the band...she was a singer, and the other guys in my band asked me if I would mind if she joined our band, cause we were looking for a female backup singer. Overall, its been very cool.

We were playing at a local bar, and some smart *** thought it would be funny to loosen one of those coloured lights (disco thing) until it fell of the rack, right onto the bassist, no one got hurt...except until after the show where Todd beat the crap out of him :thumb:

By the way, having relations with a girl in your band dosent always fail, my wife is backup singer and it dosent limit our stuff :)

I havn't had one but i know of one. Earlier, i went to see this show and on the very first song he forgot the words. So hes singing "omg i forgot the words, i cant believe i forgot the words" and stuff like that. Then he started dancing like the robot guy from cheppele's show. I think he handled it well, i thought it the song was called "i forgot the words".

i wasnt in the band playing, i was a spectator watching the band play, well people were jumping of the 8 1/2 foot stage onto the floor (drinking was involved)(A lot of drinking) well me and my friends decide to do it. I was behind 2 guys ready to jump and the front guy pukes on the guy in front of me. It was off the guy tackled the drunk guy onstage. It turns into a moshpit even the lead singer got in on it and hit a guy with the mic pole. i was really surprised that no one got killed.
