my bands just about to do some recordings, we're getting an 8 track to record on and a mixer as well.
the only thing is im not experienced with mixers and i'd like to learn the basics of using one before i purchase one and i would also know if there are any models under 200$ mixers anyone would reccomend.
thanks so much

$200 is just slightly less than what you're probably going to need to spend for 8 solid tracks of output @ once. You could try eBay, or other online sites for good deals.
Word of caution: Behringer gives good functionality and features for low money, but they don't put a lot of effort into making their equipment particularly sturdy. They're the best bet for your price range, but I wouldn't tour w/ any mixer f/ Behringer and expect it to last. It's safer to keep it in the garage/closet and bring it out only to record @ home.

ya actually beringher was the model id been looking at cause of thier prices mostly, but we would most likely be keeping our mixer at home for the time being any ways so we might go with that

Yeah. I would reccomend the Behringers.
They are very reasonably priced, and in my expereince have proven to be very reliable.
