Don't know about you guys, but when me and my friends jam, I like to just scat during akward moments when I don't know what to do.

Do any of you do this? Or am I just a little ****ed up?

Do you mean when singing you mess up the lyrics and replace it with gibberish or a slur till you get your vocal footing back?

That's kinda how i write songs. i write a cool riff, and kinda say random stuff like kinda scat, and replace lyrics with the scat stuff. Like with the same sound. Like if I scatted "doo soo so wih shoo" I would say "to do no with shoes" or something

Scatting is also when you imitate an instrument's sound, like clarinet for example in jazz.
I think scatting sounds cool, and shows you are into the music you're playing

i *wish* i could scat, but it's something i've never really had opportunity or confidence to try. you should try putting it in some of your songs if it sounds good!
