writing lyrics that sound good with a song

hi i play in a 4 person punk rock/mello metal band and i sing lead and play bass, i was wondering if i could get a few tips on how to write lyrics that blend with a punk rock song?

Just listen to the song, learn the melody, write out something that fits the melody.

It hsould be really simple in a punk band.

c'mon you dont have to be a genius...if its a punk band just keep it simple.

Listen to some bands that fit your style (blink, green day.. I don't know, you know the kind of music you want to play...) and see what they do. If you dig their writing styles, learn from them, I guess :).
