Define better, Do you mean quality? Or overall?
Overall I'd say analouge, I'd hate to turn on a digital multitrack only for it to read "FILE CORRUPT" and all my work to be lost, cassettes e.t.c. are much easier to keep well maintained and safe and things don't just randomly happen inside them to destroy your data.
Also, Digital workstations can be a problem with interfaces, clumsy wheels and small screens can be a pain and I personally feel that the umpteen effects and virtual amps you get are not worth the unreliability and painful navigation.
Whilst digital can offer some sound advantages over cassettes, they are not enough to justify the price until you start buying £14,000 work stations, put a cassette through noise reduction both on the workstation and then on a pc, and you won't really hear much difference.
Just my opinion though, I find analouge much easier to work with than digital.
