Well well well, arguably the best release from the worlds most diverse and unique band. Oh boy, its good.
The version I have is a card board double case, that folds. The covers contain lyrics and copyright information, as well and the artwork. The CD's are mini-CD's 3 inches. They're so cool!
Both CD's are really EP's but together they are an album.
The tracks are:
Duck Stab
1. Constantinople
2. Sinister Exaggerator
3. Booker Tease
4. Blue Rosebuds
5. Laughing Song
6. Bach Is Dead
7. Elvis and His Boss
Buster And Glen
1. Lizard Lady
2. Semolina
3. Birthday Boy
4. Weight-Lifting Lulu
5. Krafty Cheese
6. Hello Skinny
7. Electrocutioner
I will review Duck stab tracks first.
Duck Stab
1. Constantinople - This is a classic residents tune with country(?) style sqeaky vocals and strange sounding instruments. Very scary at the end when all the voices are harmony. Check out the Primus cover, its pretty good. This track is awesome
5/5
2. Sinister Exaggerator - This song is about, someone who exaggerates a lot. The guitar and bass are pretty repetative and the vocal line is helluva creepy. Check out the Primus cover too. This track rocks.
5/5
3. The Booker Tease - Perhaps the most musical song the Residents have ever written. It is only 1.04 minutes long but it is really awesome. A kind of slow, jazzy brilliance.
5/5
4. Blue Rosebuds - This song is about a woman. It begins with very cool. mystical electric keyboard/synth. The middle section has the insane high voice that the Residents use a lot. Very creepy!
5/5
5. The Laughing Song - This song is simply awesome. Hilarious lyrics and cool music. It's quite short, but excellent.
5/5
6. Bach Is Dead - Has a cool bass line and cool lyrics. Short, only about 1.12.
5/5
7. Elvis And His Boss - Rock and roll Residents style! Absolutly awesome song, great lyrics and guitar and bass and everything. I can't get over the awesomeness of this song.
5/5.
Buster & Glen
1. Lizard Lady - This song is very scary. A short clip from it can be found at www.espew.com (Search for "Residents") This song has a very scary 'Lizard's' voice from about halfway to the end. I have no idea what intruments are used. Probably just synth, but its not guitar or bass.
5/5
2. Semolina - Slow scary song. I do like this one, seems to make me think of the circus for some reason.
5/5
3. Birthday Boy - Ooh this is probably the second best on the album(B&G). Hilarious nonsence lyrics and music.
5/5
4. Weight Lifting Lu-Lu - Probably the track I listen to least, not because its crap, its just not my favourite, kinda slow and reminds me of Blue rosebuds.
4/5
5. Krafty Cheese - Based on the German company "Kraft" and their cheese products. Funny lyrics and cool music.
5/5
6. Hello Skinny - The best song on this side of the EP. About a skinny fellow. Its minor but major at the same time, its just an awesome song. Primus have covered it too.
5/5.
7. The Electrocutioner - Guest vocals by "Ruby", whoever that is. This song is kinda creepy but it is a great track, kinda song like an old dance song but then changed into whatever it really is.
5/5
These two Mini-Cd's are a must for everyone with an open mind to music. This has been nearly my favourite album(s) since I bought it. What are you waiting for?
