hey, I've been playing guitar for 2 years and I want to start learning how to sing, I have no clue on how to sing at all (I mean, I know the basics and the breathing thing as far as theory goes but no experience) so I dont know how to sing in the right notes, how to cover other songs in right notes and stuff like that...

so my question is: is it worth to go to guitar center (or any other music store) and pick myself a few singin dvds? would that help me? because it sure did with guitar playing but then singin might be different... teachers are expensive so yeah... I don't think you can learn how to sing by yourself unlike guitar, so, does anybody have any dvds/cds/whatever to recommend? even if I have to buy tru the net...

also a good point is.. I don't have that big of a goal, I just want some basic stuff, like I'm into stuff like Smile Empty Soul/3 Days Grace type thing and a lot of alternative/punk, so it's not like I wanna learn how to sing Tool songs or anything...

thank you in advance.

Haven't seen any myself. But I can tell you one thing. DONT DO ANYTHING THAT BERT DOES IN THE USED DVD!

And the 3 days grace singer is pretty awesome, not everyone will be able to sing his stuff

Man teaching is the best thing. I understand it's expensive, but i've never seen a singing dvd/cd/vhs.

Yeah, for a quick learning curve - nothing beats one-on-one tuition with a qualified vocal coach.
