Is there anything you can experiment with so make you voice sound different.
(i am comfterbal with my voice, i just wana be able to do more than one style an stuff.)
i heard you can do this by doing something with your soft palate but i dunno what it was. Any tips would be rad.

Thanks :thumb:

THe hard pallet is the roof of your mouth.
The soft pallet is the back of the throat that you can pull down. THe same part you use for rasp. Like i say, once you learn to isolate it from your cords you can shape your singing. Opening it up can help project the voice and give resonance and closing it down can rasp the sound. I mean its not an effects processor but i would say its a big key to doing whatever kind of style you want.
Another idea i came up with is that if you say ANNNKK with a bit of rasp, like youre a game show buzzer for a wrong answer, or an alarm or something, its basically that same area.

You can change the sound of your voice quite a bit by experimenting with what's called "placement." Most singing teachers will teach you to sing with your soft palate raised and the sound focused toward the front of your mouth. This is called "forward placement" or "singing in the mask." You can also focus the sound up into your nose area, or toward the back of your mouth, near your throat. This takes experimentation, but it works :)
