The drumming is electronic. Still, it takes a lot of talent to sequence all that in time.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I'm not a very good singer. I've only been singing for a little over a year, even though I've been playign guitar for 18 years. Before that, the most singing I'd done was the occasional backup or harmony. But I do it because I have fun doing it and because for the most part, I do it better than the other guys, although Matt our lead guitarist did a great job singing King Nothing. There are certain Metallica songs he can sing, and others he can't. We'll be sharing vocal duties a lot more in future songs.

Buy the singer some singing lessons, but probably has some potential. Nice one, sounds good

Im going to request the song One.Your guitarist has mad skillz. The singer isnt bad, just needs to un-grungify his voice a bit, and become more dominant over the instruments because it is hard at sometimes to hear. But, overall, 8/10 man.Good stuff.

Sorry dudes, haven't been aroudn much in the past couple or weeks due to being busy with Christmas shopping and all.

For drum sequencing, we use Cakewalk Sonar. The drum sounds come from a custom SoundFont set that I load up in my SBLive (now an Audigy 2). That's what generates the drum sound.

And I Rats, I think it's already been established that I'm not a very good singer. We do this as a fun thing and share it with anyone who's interested in listening. We have no delusions of grandeur or aspirations of anything. We do this for fun because we like it, and we do it the way we want to do it. You know, you seem to have a lot to say about our stuff. It's **** easy to sit by the sidelines and slam what other people do. Let's hear your stuff.

As for Duality, that cover was recorded about 10 minutes after I first heard the song for the first time. Whether it's 'wrong' or not means nothing to me. I heard it, started playing around with it to figure it out by ear. I got what I consider to be close enough, and decided I would try to do a quick fun cover of it for fun. It sounded good, so I got the other guys involved in it, and it came out the way it is. It was never intended to be released as a cover on our site, but it happened anyway.
The final recorded song sounds pretty good even if it isn't identical to the original. If you want to hear the Sklipknot version of the song, then listen to Slipknot.

Same with our Metallica covers. They sound **** close, but there are parts we play differently. We do add our own touches to the songs, even though they are quite subtle for the most part. It cracks me up when people get all up in arms and anal with comments like "you played that riff wrong", or "you didn't pick that right" or something trivial like that. Who cares? These are the Sad But True versions of the songs. If you want to listen to the Metallca versions, then lsiten to their CDs.

But anyway, thanks for the props guys. I appreciate it.

I dunno if you guys read the info here:http://www.sadbuttrue-band.com/info/band.asp

Crunch, are all of the songs recorded part by part and mixed? If that is the case, I think the music is really really good! :thumb:

btw, do you need a new banner for you web? cos I can do a much better one for you. The banner doesn't do the music justice.

Yes. We start with the drum track, and then the song is built up track by track. Everything is mixed and arranged by me once the tracks are all there.

As for a banner, if you want to send a couple, by all means go for it. If they do get used, it probably won't be for a while. I jsut rolled out this version of the site about 2 months ago, and I don't expect to upgrade it significantly soon. But I will keep them if they're good and use them.
