Texas vs. Texas A&M

What a weird game... Anybody else watching?


So basically, it was 12-13, (A&M leading) and Texas was kicking the extra point after a touchdown. The guy that sets the ball up (I don't know what you call him) fumbles with it, and the ball ends up being kicked into one of the linemen's back. That means dead ball, right? No, well the ball ended up rolling into A&M's endzone, and one of the A&M guys picked it up, and got tackled in the endzone. You know what the referee called from this? "One point safety"; hence, the game was tied 13-13. (but now it's 16-13 Texas)

Have you ever heard of a one point safety? Unless it is some crazy rule that is rarely enforced, due to it never happening, I think this could have caused A&M the game.

I've never heard of a one point safety either. That was definitely a weird play. It's starting to look like the Horns are pulling away, so it might not matter.

Also, Vince Young seems somewhat overrated to me. Texas just scored; 26-13 now.

And yeah, Texas won by a couple touchdowns anyway, but that was still an incredibly weird call by the refs.

my thoghts is A+M suck go texas, (only reason i like UT is cos my uncle went to A+M so i root for UT to piss him off)

Well I was going for A&M because if they won, Texas would go down in BCS standings, and BSU would move up to 6th, putting them in an extremely good position for a major bowl game. And this would be BSU's big chance. They never get to play top ranked teams in WAC. :)

I want BSU and Utah to get as high as possible. I want the stupid BCS to just go away.

Yes, I know how you feel. I just hope Utah can make it into the Sugar Bowl, or the Rose Bowl (that would be incredible, playing against Michigan) and from there, BSU would hopefully get into the Fiesta Bowl.


I just can't wait until BSU gets into the Mountain West Conference. Competition++ at last.

I'm sad to say that I've forgotten where the rotation of the 4 bowls landed this year. The championship is the Orange Bowl this year though right?

If I had to take a guess I think its:
1st - Orange (Championship)
2nd - Rose
3rd - Fiesta
4th - Sugar

No, I got it. Thats right, because LSU won sugar last year, OSU in the Fiesta 2 years ago, Miami in the Rose 3 years ago.

the one point safety rule is basically any points being scored on the PAT is only worht one point wether it be a safety feild goal or touchdown by the defense unless the ofense goes for two points then every point style as listed before would be worth two.
