The Official Skinfish Hate Thread!

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM MOZZA

I have been noticing that I have given in-depth critiques to many writers who only have 50 or less posts. A couple days later, they have roughly the same amount of posts, but a new song is posted. There was an issue with this and sethmcbride yesterday. For this reason, I now require that any non-regulars (you know who you are, and I do too) are required to critique 3 songs well before they receive any response from me.

Instructions on how to critique well, for those who don't understand:

WHAT IS NOT A CRITIQUE

1. "good job 9/10." or "this suck 1/10". THESE ARE NOT CRITIQUES! If I see anybody post this, not only will it not count as a critique, but I will increase your required number to 5.

WAYS TO PROPERLY CRITIQUE

2. Here are some things you can comment on. You don't have to include everything, but try to be as helpful as you can:

- Title: does it fit with the song? If it says "no title", perhaps you could suggest one?

- Structure/Flow: was it easy to read? Did it sound interesting in your head? Was the structure solid?

- Rhyming: Were the rhymes good/bad? Any suggestions for change?

- Catchiness: self explanatory

- Style: What style came to mind when you read it? If the author suggested a style, do you think this works with what you read?

- Theme: What did you think the theme or topic was? Was it a good theme? etc.

- Imagery: Was there imagery? Was it interesting and imaginative? etc.

- Overall: this is where you can add good job 10/10. Discuss the author's style, if they have improved over previous pieces, things they can do to improve etc.

CRITIQUING STYLES

1. Many people (including me recently) like to do verse by verse critiques. This is good, because you don't leave out any part of the song.

3. "The System" - I made this up. It basically ensures that you touch on almost every aspect of the song. Feel free to use the "system", and if you feel you have anything new to add, let me know :thumb:

CRITIQUING ETIQUETTE (thanks to clichealias for this)

1. You must always be respectful in your comments. Joking around is fine, as long as the other person knows you're joking (write just kidding or a wink).

2. Try not to insult the songwriter - if you are being negative, stick to the song.

3. If someone insults your song, do not take it as a person insult, and retort with "fag". That's just... wrong.

4. If someone leaves a negative critique, do not feel obliged to trash their song in their thread if it is unnecessary. Put personal feelings aside, the author doesn't matter, only the song.

5. If someone leaves a glowing critique, do not feel obliged to praise their song in a similar manner, if it is not a good song. This only builds up ego, and does not help the writer.

6. If you dislike a song, DO NOT praise it because you don't want to insult them. Either don't comment at all, or state what you really feel. False praise does no one any good.



I hope this helps to improve the critiquing that has been going on. I'm just trying to ensure that everyone gets fair critiques, and noobs: it doesn't take that long to do a half-decent critique. With the above advice, I don't think you have anything to worry about :thumb:

I assume that I fall under this category. :) I definately see what you are trying to say, I post frequently on a few songwriting forums, and I suppose I've put these forums at the bottom of the pile. I feel your idea may get the forum flowing with critiques, I know for sure that I am going to make an effort to critique this board whenever I can, not only critiquing those who critique me..

Your feedback put into this board is noteworthy, morrisey. It is appreciated by me and I'm certain by others.. :)

On many forums I've noticed a lot of people giving false feedback giving people the impression that there work was the greatest thing on earth. And they do so, merely to get a critique in return, and it's mind numbingly obvious, it's really pathetic. And most likely the person who returns the critique ends up being so flattered, they have to return the favor in the best possible way.. I can't stand this exchange of bull****.

If you knew your history you would know that Jesus was already cricified. Therefor, he has no potential to be crucifed in the days in which we live in. If you believe the Christian rationale, you will believe that he will come back in days to come and bring the believers with him to heaven. If you don't, you believe that he is some poor sap who is already dead. I'd say that me being either and posting on a message board is pretty phenomical.

If you must here the whole story, skinfish wrote a shitty song. I gave him an indepth critique, but he still got pissed because he feels that lyrics don't have to be good. So he makes the "Official Morrissey Hate Thread" spoofing Mozz's new song, but with dirty words. I laughed, and a while later I made the Official Skinfish Hate Thread... but then I decided it should be an important message, but couldn't change the title.

So to sum up:

1. You are an asshat.
2. Skinfish is an asshat.

Meh, it depends on how you define the term jew. If you define a jew as the modern man who disregards that Jesus was the coming of the of massiah.. (as they still await the massiah to come)then no jesus obviously wasn't a jew.

Biblically, Jesus was god in man's body.. so what agreed with the tora(the old testament)..as that is part of the christian religion, christians agree with it.. and that was all that had happened so far.

With jesus, came the new testament, and as he grew older, judaism evolved into christianity. And he was the creator of it, the first teacher of christianity(duh)
