Desolated Dreams

The sun arrises from the east.
Brings us daylight with its heat.
No more darkness to hide away.
We load our guns for another day.
War is cloaked by the sky so blue.
Hides the pain and hides the truth.
Home is just a place we've read.
We no our fate may steal our breath.

Laying down into the mud.
Makes a change from pools of blood.
I smell the fear i smell the pain.
I feel the blood rush through my veins.
If i live or if i die.
Its lose or lose cuz i'm scarred for life.
Even time can't heal my wounds.
For all of us we can't die too soon.

If we make it out.
If we die in the war.
If we make it out.
Theres no chance to live again.

If we make it out.
If we die in the war.
If we make it out.
Theres no chance to live again.

Sounds of guns ring out our names.
One by one death takes the brave.
Firing aimlessly i shake.
Time has come its make or break.
Lifeless bodies beg to me.
They cry for help i can't help thee.
Nowhere to run nowhere to hide.
I have to watch all my friends die.

Then i hear a cry 'retreat'.
Drop my rounds and use my feet.
Never turn to look behind.
If i did i know i'd die.
So i run and run and run.
Explosions near me laugh for fun.
Shouts and screams echo my head.
The war tattoes my brain with dread.

If we make it out.
If we die in the war.
If we make it out.
Theres no chance to live again.

If we make it out.
If we die in the war.
If we make it out.
Theres no chance to live again.

Face out of the mud.
Face up from the floor.
Face out into darkness facing a war.

Face out of the mud.
Face up from the floor.
Face out into darkness facing a war.

Tear away the mask of fear and leave it in the brush
Charge back to help my friends i left in my rush.
Clutching at all straws of hope i scrambled back inside.
Questions raced ahead...did anyone survive?
Blinding tears i ran hunting for team 101.
Bravory is the presents of fear but the will to take fear on.
I collapsed in shame and closed my eyes said a prayer for those men.
No one in sight, just blood stains of my friends.

Face out of the mud.
Face up from the floor.
Face out into darkness facing a war.

Face out of the mud.
Face up from the floor.
Face out into darkness facing a war.

If we make it out.
If we die in the war.
If we make it out.
Theres no chance to live again.

If we make it out.
If we die in the war.
If we make it out.
Theres no chance to live again.

In between all of the wars, just a ceasefire and more wars will play.
IT never ends.

not to intrude but wtf do you know about fighting in a war at the small age of sixteen, probably from computer games or somthing

i cant imagine a tune to these lyrics. it sounds more like a 50 year old
vietnam vet has written it.

maybe its ok as a poem. its a bit turd. :thumb:

I think it's fantastic as a song, not just poem. He tries to represent the feelings of being in a war and i think he does that succesfully. It's far better than the majority of the **** people are listening to at the moment.

Well Done :thumb:
