Here's a cover of the song "blank" by failure. I'm only 14, and I have a horible singing voice, and I have a bad cold, but see how U like it anyways.

Not horrible...not great either. But hey you're young, you've got potential. I think you have a good melodic sense. Your flow works pretty well. Songwriting ain't too bad either.
Keep it up. :thumb:
btw...you're guitar sounded like the one with the cold. :p

Ooops, my bad.... so he's got good taste. Thus the title, not a failure though...
(MW)No comments of your own?...assjack.

True, assjack, I sure didn't sound that good when I was 14. He's got a good feel for it.
So Splig...jackass and assjack agree.

:D Yessss! Someone did a cover of Failure. I'm own Fantastic Planet which Blank is on. I'm a fan of all the bands Ken Andrews (http://www.kenandrews.com) has/had including Failure, On, Year Of The Rabbit, and just everything he's been involved with in general.
Okay, on to business. I can tell that you have a cold ;) , but I do not think that you have a horrible singing voice. I actually really liked your singing and I thought you did a very good job at covering Ken's voice. The only negative thing I could say about you singing is that I think you need more a little practice (experience). I don't mean this like, "you suck! Practice!" I just mean that even good things can improve with time. However, I would probably think alot different if you didn't have a cold because I know how AWFUL my singing is with a cold, and how hard it is to do. I liked the guitar. I thought that was really good. I think I noticed a few wrong notes around the start of "I kinda like the blank way..." but I may be wrong. I may just be used to the album version where at times it is hard to hear what Ken is playing. If you ever record a non-cold version (lol) or any other Failure cover for matter, please upload them. I would love to hear more. I'm definitely keeping this one on my computer. Good job and thank you for this treat! :thumb: !!!

I re-recorded the vocals, and I still have a hint of a cold, but it's pretty much gone. The vocals sound better now I think. And jim, I'm thinking of covering "the nurse who loved me" in a few days if you'd like to hear it, i'll post it on the same site probabily. I also might be posting some of my original stuff later if I can get the band i'm in together
peace

I recorded the first verse and chorus of the nurse who loved me. www.angelfire.com/music6/marksaudio/nurse.MP3 . You have to copy and paste that link. It doesn't work on the site

Yes. I listened to it, I just haven't had time to leave feedback. I thought you did really well on this one too. The only thing that I thought you needed to improve was the singing just a little in the chorus. It's not bad. It's actually pretty good, just bring your voice up (not in volume) on the words I made bold.
(Chorus I)
I'm taking her home with me
All dressed in white
She's got everything I need
Pharmacy keys
She's falling hard for me
I can see it in her eyes
She acts just like a nurse
With all the other guys
Then if you record the whole song, on the second/third chorus just make sure to bring up the bold lines and to stress the capitalized words even more like this...
(Chorus II)
I'm taking her home with ME
All dressed in white
She's got everything I need
Some pills in a little cup
She's falling hard for ME
I can see it in her eyes
She acts just like a nurse
With all the other guys
(Chorus III)
She's got everything I NEED
Pharmacy KEYS
SHE acts just like a nurse
With ALL the other GUYS
I know you're too young to get into a bar to do an open mic, but if you have any coffee shops around to play a small acoustic set, I think The Nurse and Blank would be two excellent choices for you. Very well done! :thumb:
PS. The new version you did of Blank was alot better with your vocals. Very nice.
