I've heard different. Actually 2 alternate stories with the Slayer vs. Max fued.
Alt Story #1: Max was being interviewed and brought up how he thought Slayer were Satan worshippers, blasphemers, idiots for worshipping Satan etc etc.. which pissed Slayer off.
Alt Story #2: Kerry said that Sepultura were a Slayer rip-off band and were trying to hard to copy Slayer. which pissed Max off.

Sorry for it being so long. This is from Slayerized.com and it's an interview between Kerry king and Metal Hammer Magazine:
Interview with Kerry King
From Metak Hammer UK, September 2005
U.K.'s Metal Hammer magazine recently conducted an interview with SLAYER guitarist Kerry King. Several excerpts from the chat follow:
Metal Hammer: Shouldn't you be releasing a record soon? It's been four years since "God Hates Us All".
Kerry King: "It seems like everybody under the sun says, 'We want a new record,' but at the same time, they keep saying, 'We'd really like you to come back on tour.' That **** bumps everything on the backburner. The funny this is Dave [Lombardo, drums] and me have had a 10-song demo we did up at his house that's been lying around since March 2004. I know Jeff [Hanneman, guitar] has written a couple , and I've written a couple more since then, so this week we're going to start the process of getting back together and nailing this thing. With luck, we'll start recording by September. I'm hoping to work with Dave Sardy, who was with us for 'Undisputed Attitude'. Lombardo wants Rick Rubin for drums, and I've no problems with that because, in my opinion, it's what he's best at. But I think we're all pretty much agreed that the overall producer will be Sardy."
Metal Hammer: Is Lombardo back for keeps now?
Kerry King: "As far as I know, Dave is back in the band. It was 12 years we were apart, and that's 12 years of growing up for everybody. Actually, I think we're probably a better band because of it. It seems to me like Dave's having a great time, and I know he gets up in front of some of those 30,000 crowds and thinks, 'Man, this rocks!' he's playing better than he's ever played."
Metal Hammer: It's every metal geek's dream. The original, class-of-1982 SLAYER lineup reunited.
Kerry King: "Exactly. Having Dave back in the band is one of the highlights of my whole time in SLAYER. There are kids that could've been into us for over 10 years that never got to see us the way we are meant to be. I just saw ANTHRAX at one of those Euro festivals with Joey [Belladonna] — and I liked John Bush to death, y'know, he was a great singer — but something just happens when Joey plays. As for [JUDAS] PRIEST, when Ripper joined, I didn't see 'em once."
Metal Hammer: Having been around for almost a quarter of a century, what do you think SLAYER did right that the other pioneers of the thrash movement did wrong?
Kerry King: "Well, we never took time off from the thrash movement like METALLICA did. We didn't get sidetracked by pop music like MEGADETH did. We didn't lose our frontman like ANTHRAX did. I probably felt competition with those bands at the time thrash was taking off, but we always knew that none of those bands were better than us. We just went out and kept doing our thing."
Metal Hammer: What do you think went wrong for METALLICA?
Kerry King: "One word: 'Load'. But also, whenever you think enough of yourself to play with an orchestra, that's when you're too big. People say to us, 'When are you guys going to do that?' And I'm like, 'Never.'"
Metal Hammer: You've had your fair share of run-ins with MEGADETH over the years.
Kerry King: "People say, 'What's your problem with [Dave] Mustaine?' To which I say, 'Well, he's a cocksucker, for one thing.' But my problem with MEGADETH is, I don't know who that band is anymore. It's like the METALLICA thing. Who's METALLICA? Is METALLICA the band that did 'Master of Puppets' and 'Ride the Lightning', or is METALLICA the band who got to the point where they felt they could put out 'Load' and 'Reload'? It's lie, 'Who are you?'"
Metal Hammer: How long can you keep this up? It's hard to imagine SLAYER not being around.
Kerry King: "It's hard to put a time scale on it. I do know I can't do this for another 25 years. We're more of a physical band than a band like [BLACK] SABBATH, who can keep coming back. Tony [Iommi] is a great guitar player, but if you put a time-lapse camera on him, he'd probably move 10 feet the whole show. We can't be like that. If we had to come and do a show when I was 60, I'd probably bust a vertebra."

3 years.
I've been into metal since I was 10 (I'm 20 now) but didn't start playing guitar until I was 17. (My dad didn't want me to learn an instrument for some reason. It wasn't until I moved in with my mom that I got to learn it finally.)
I really liked the intro of my untitled song. i just take a D barre chord and lift off one finger at a time. I sounds so awesome. Mix in that distorted second guitar and you'll sound awesome.

Never seen Devin Townsend??
I got to meet Kerry King back in the April... he went to the Vader/Kreator show in Anaheim, CA. After the show, he was standing out front just hanging out with us fans.. it was pretty cool. I stuck around for a while and got my ticket signed, but he was hungry so we had to let him go eat haha. He was a pretty cool guy.

Dude, I almost talked my dad into driving me up to that show. I bet it was awesome, also that's cool of King not being a dick and stuff. I read some interview where he said something about how it annoys people when they tell him that Slayer is their favorite band or they idolize him, because they never elaborate and he doesn't know what to say. But still he hung out with fans and gave autographs, so that's cool.

I hope they try to make it more like older material. But if I remember properly in an interview with King he said that the material they're working on sounds like the last 2 albums. I'll search around and try and find it.
EDIT: Here's the interview. I was slightly wrong. JH=Hanneman (obviously)
BM: Last time I checked in with you guys you had like 10 songs for it.
J H: We have tons of ideas. We don’t have any working titles, we have dumb names that we call the songs so we know what we are talking about but we don’t have any real titles for it. We have tons of music to work with.
BM: What is it sounding like so far?
J H: To me it sound’s like the first three songs on the last record. It’s very intense and very insane.
That's mean he the songs are going to be similar to Here Comes the Pain, Warzone, and Payback. All songs I could careless for. Actually no, I thought Warzone was one of the highlights of GHUA.

Yeah. I used to not like older metal that much. But over the past year I've found myself listening to older 70's to early 90's music. Especially 80's thrash.

Season's in the abyss is considerabally there best album and that was the 90's. And God hates us all was AMAZING............and i've just realised that wasn't the 90's. But seriously the only one i don't like is 'Undisputed attitude'.

You liked god hates us all? I hated it, well...I shouldn't say hate but it ranged so far from earlier stuff it just didn't sound the same, I'm thinking it was because of Tom's vocals.

GHUA was Tom's best performance I thought. i loved it! It was different, but it wasn't that different, just a little bit heavier. I think ther're better this way. And you can't possibly say that you don't like "New Faith".

I cannot stand that song. The riffage is good, but once I heard, "I KEEP THE BIBLE IN A POOL OF BLOOD!" I thought that song lost a lot of cool points.. I dont' know why but I thought that was extremely cheesy-antichristian. Not like I'm used to when it comes to Slayer. Even Jeff said in the War at the Warfield DVD that he didn't like New Faith until they started playing it live.
The only songs off that album I like are Disciple, War Zone, God Send Death, and Bloodline.

Today I got the thrash metal mailing list, and was excited to get Reign In Blood, but after I downloaded it I tried to play the album and it said that the liscence had already been used 10 times, so I couldn't get it :upset: . I was just wondering if any of you might be able to send me RIB or any other good slayer albums at blplayer22@hotmail.com or if you could upload them to a host site that would be great too! Thanks in advance :thumb:

lol. On a serious point though Angel of death is about head SS doctor at Aushcwitz called Josef Mengele. He did some seriously ****ed up experiments on kids, women and he favoured twins (he tried to sew them togethr). He was nicknamed 'Angel of death', hence the song name.

From the Slayer.net Q&A section
Question:
I was curious why do you prefer the khaler tremlo system over the floyd rose? Also why did you decide to endorse ESP when your main guitar was the Jackson? I'm sure Jackson would have gladly given you an endorsement complete with a signature Jackson Soloist by the way you kick ***!
asked by John Loughner on Sunday, May 5, 2002
Answer:
1) Floyds suck 2) Because I can
Question:
kerry whats your real name?

I have mixed feelings about it but I had the chance to buy either a LP or an NJ beast and for some reason I bought the Paul. Hmmm.....well I've played on both and I'd say the paul plays a lot better but that's just my opinion. (plus they both had a fixed bridge. If the NJ had a floyd, I'd have just bought that instead) Also, Jeff started with a Les Paul anyways right?
