the LOG thread is still discussing Slayer. grrrr. i'll quote this from it.
If you put different vocals in slayer, then it's not slayer.
my point exactly.
If you think Araya hits notes perfectly, you have an iron ear. He's not even trying to sing in pitch, he's just belting it out.
not always.
I'm Charming
03-30-2006, 05:07 AM
Techniquely he's not that great a singer. With that said though, his vocals are great. They fit the lyrics and music perfectly.
I wouldn't want any other singer for Slayer.

Yeah he's good for slayer so it annoys me when people go, "Ha, Tom sucks, he'd be terrible singing for Lamb of god'...yeah well he doesn't sing for Lamb of God! He sings for Slayer and no-one else could do it better! And i'd like to add that Slayer are one of the biggest influences for Lamb of God.

not always.
He doesn't need to be able to sing properly. His vocals fit the music perfectly, and it wouldn't seem angry enough etc, If he sang properly anyways.
Need I repeat again?

Haha, this is what I found on slayer saves. This is Kerry talking, he's expressing his views on My Space. I'm not going to edit out all the swear words.

Then I proceeded to have ****face douchebag removed from the site. I never have nor do I plan on doing anything personally with MySpace. Mandatory Suicide may be the easiest song to play out of your list. I'd suggest that, unless your band can play War Ensemble perfectly at Slayer's speed.

Slayer is my favorite band, but I will say that Mustaine is a lot better at doing solos than Hanneman or King. Also, have you heard the Metallica demos with Mustaine on them? Hammett couldn't even play them so he had to slow them down, and change certain parts. Proof of Mustaine's superiority at guitar... listen to anything off of Rust in Peace.
So, I hear that the solos for The Antichrist on Decade of Aggression is different than the studio version... are they better?
People that know anything about Slayer know that their solos are actually pretty bad and often annoying, but it's the riffs that make them so great.

My favourite opening riff for a song is Spirit In Black. Sounds different from others.
Spirit In Black's opening riff is certainly badass and I would agree that it's one of the band's best ever.
But for sheer greatness, I still don't think Slayer can best the song "South of Heaven". Even though it's not thrash it still has a badass factor of a million.

Tritones or diminished fifths are also known as the the devil's interval, so it's just a scale using it a bunch of times. I'm not even sure if it's an actual scale.

Sorry for E-Shouting.
I'll try and upload the song somwhere. Where can I host it?
EDIT: When I said "Dude it's not"
I was meaning it's not on that album... Not that you were wrong about the lyrics to Disciple.

OHOHOHOHOHOHOHOH!
Okay, well no Slayer don't have a song called God Hates Us All. Sorry about that. I thought you were talking about the Disciple. Just use YSI and post it here for a few minutes so I can click the link and give it a listen... then you just delete it.

I have no idea how to put songs from ipod onto computer. But you don't need to put an email in there. If you don't it'll just upload and show you the link.
I'm in the process of Downloading the song again. I'm surprised I got it to be honest, considering you said there isn't a song called God Hates Us All by them
It says I have to put in a recipient e-mail?

Just got the email. You might want to delete the link. Mods might be happy if you leave it posted.
EDIT
That's not Slayer at all. That's Dark Angel. The song is called Darkness Descends.
THE CITY IS GUILTY!
THE CRIME IS LIFE
SCENTENCE IS DEATH!
DARKNESS DESCENDS!
Great band, but not slayer.

Dark Angel? Jesus. Sounds like Slayer. Do you know what the song is called?
Sorry for the trouble by the way. I'm a pain in the butt. Good to finally find out though.
Listening to it now, the vocals don't sound all THAT similar. But... had me fooled for months. :upset:
