you see, despite being asian, and therefore more attractive than most normal woman, yoko ono actually used her beautiful asianality to lure lennon into a government trap. as you know, the government was watching lennon, they percieved as a threat to national security, he was a drug user, and was sort of like a pied piper into weird freaky hippy hedonism for kids. now yoko ono was japanese, we all know that there was a great mistrust of japanese in america around those times following world war 2 and the cold war. why do you think yoko ono got away with all the stuff she did, she cut a deal on the behalf of japan with the american government to nix lennon forever. they hired the gunman, planted a fake story, and made him shoot lennon, thus ending the threat. the reason no one knows why he shot lennon is because the government never came up with a good story, so you can believe that he wanted to be famous, or the book the catcher in the rye made him do it.
Ummm... what? You're kidding, right? Also, Yoko Ono is incredibly unattractive, regardless of nationality. You, my friend, have a serious case of yellow fever. I suggest you see a doctor, or a psychiatrist. Or just stop seeing anime.

I don't get into their more fats paced songs i geuss because i think other bands do it better, in my opinion (couldn't figureout how to spell that). but they always seemed to kick *** at the slower feeling songs. esp Let it be

My favourite Bealtes material would be their pyschedelic/experimental music such as A Day in the Life, Strawberry Fields, Rain, Tomorrow Never Knows and so forth. They have such a great feel to them.

I agree. However, those songs tend to be the slower ones. I'm in agreement with CockEyedMaverik, not because I think other bands do fast stuff better, but simply because slower songs tend to appeal to me more.

Well, my four favorite songs of The White Album were all slow and sweet- Blackbird, Cry Baby Cry, Rocky Racoon, and WMGGW. I love thier fast, Birthday/Helter Skelter songs, too, but it is true their prettier, slower songs are more appealing.
Has anyone listened to the Anthologies/Let It Be Sessions?
Some of those songs they do I think are better cuts than the originals.

I like Rubber Soul a lot better. Probably my favorite Beatles album.
For me:
Rubber Soul>Abbey Road>Revolver>MMT>Sgt. Peppers

Then Maxwell's Silver Hammer and Oh Darling are both really good songs, not the best, but still good. I like Maxwell's Silver Hammer more out of those 2 though. Octapus's Garden, I Want You, and Here Comes the Sun are 3 of my favorite songs ever, and the 2nd half of the album is genius. I think Abbey Road is one of their best. Give it a few more listens.

I don't think so. Timothy Leary, an LSD pioneer back in the day, was running for president or some other political office and he asked John Lennon to write him a campaign song around the slogan "Come Together" John couldn't think of anything so he just wrote this nonsense song around the slogan. I'm pretty sure that's what the Beatles Anthology said about it.
I've also heard that the lyrics are just a sexual joke by John.

I'm pretty sure that's what the Beatles Anthology said about it.
I've also heard that the lyrics are just a sexual joke by John.
The song started out to be for Timothy Leary as a campaign song. Although, the lyrics seem to be talking about each of them

Most of you probably already know this, but apparently Coca Cola filed a law-suit against the Beatles way back in the day for mentioning their product name in "Come Together." I couldn't believe how stupid they'd be the first time I heard that. You're getting free advertising from the biggest rock band in the world, and you don't want the song to be allowed on the radio?? Makes no sense whatsoever.

The Beatles were rock music, which was looked down upon by many and Coca-Cola probably wanted to promote a wholesome family type appearance.

As Damien Rhodes says, Coca-Cola was trying to maintain a kind of "wholesome" image, and by the time Abbey Road came out, the Beatles were anything but wholesome.
Speaking of Abbey Road, I think "Something" is my favorite Beatles song.

Come Together is one of those songs thats just cool. It's not a bad song in particular, but it doesn't really invoke any feeling, it just has a cool feel to it.
I haven't really given AR a good listen so my opinion on it isn't the best I suppose..

Don't worry, that's not the Beatles. That's by a band named "Badfinger," and the song is called "Come and Get it." They were around about the same time as the Beatles, and do kind of sound like them, so it's understandable.

Well, Badfinger were discovered by Paul McCartney. And McCartney wrote Come and Get It. Also, Badfinger comes from "Badfinger Boogie" which was the working title to a Beatles song (forget which one).

Yeah Badfiner was also produced by Paul, at least for their first album, so the similarities is really close.

Ringo:

He got hair down to his knee
Got to be a joker he just do what he please
George:
He wear no shoeshine he got toe-jam football
He got monkey finger he shoot coca-cola
He say "I know you, you know me"
One thing I can tell you is you got to be free
Come together right now over me
John:
He bag production he got walrus gumboot
He got Ono sideboard he one spinal cracker
He got feet down below his knee
Hold you in his armchair you can feel his disease
Come together right now over me
Paul:
He roller-coaster he got early warning
He got muddy water he one mojo filter
He say "One and one and one is three"
Got to be good-looking 'cause he's so hard to see
Come together right now over me

I first bought the new Yellow Submarine (like previous post), then a year later I bought 1, then I got Rubber Soul and Abbey Road soon after that, then I got Sgt. Pepper's that Christmas, that next birthday I got the White Album, the following Christmas I got Revolver, next Christmas I got Let it Be...Naked, and the next birthday I got MMT.
My dad started me out on Sgt. Pepper and MMT when I was a few days old.

I was pretty much stuck with the Beatles earlier years until I was about 15. Up until that time the only Beatles album I'd ever really listened to was their '62-'66 album. I'd heard a few of the later singles here and there, but mostly just the early stuff.

Those are good albums for infants, phsychedelia and children's stuff can be so easily interchanged: ex. Alice and Wonderland and SPLHCB

The only Beatle album I've actually bought is MMT. My parents have the other major ones that I can easily borrow plus they're are ripped onto my computer/mp3 player.

The first Beatles album I owned was Rubber Soul. Then I bought Revolver right afterward, and stole most of the other's from my parents. My parents had 1, Sgt. Pepper's, and With the Beatles. I stole Help and Abbey Road from my brother, and bought Rubber Soul, Revolver, MMT, White Album, and Let it Be myself,

It's funny how sometimes things all come back to your childhood. For instance, my first favourite band was actually the Beatles, then I went through a long period in which I nearly ignored them entirely. Now, for about a year, I've been hopelessly addicted to them yet again.

That happened to me with The Who. From when I was born until I was about 10, they were my favorite band, then I got out of them for awhile. In the past three years I got obsessed with them again.

Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass are probably my two favorite books ever. So good.
I never bought a Beatles album, because my dad has owned them all for as long as I can remember.

My fave song is The End, Which happens to be the last Beatle song recorded. The only song with a drum solo. And three guitar solos by Paul, George and John. :)

That drum solo was also written and recorded by Paul, Since Ringo stormed out the studio in a paddy over something.
McCartney is just an all around amazing Musician.
I think the only Beatles albums I've bought is the Anthologys because my Dad pretty much had everything on Vynl and CD multiple times. Like I've got 3 copys of the White album, 2 average Vynls and the Third is one of the numbered ones. I never play that one.

That's a shame.... Most my vinyl's have gone the way of the yard sale many moon ago. The only collections I keep still now, are; Bowie, The Who, Elton John, some Rod Stewart and Talking Heads. There are few other artists in there but not complete vinyl collections. Oh yeah...of course I have Beatles on vinyl; all and solo career from Capital, EMI/Parlophone and Apple. Everything is CD now so I keep the collection simple. My best original records are the Beatles first album in America on VeeJay Records, MMT on original Parlophone release as a set of 45's and a very rare copy of Elton John's 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road' album on the Dick James Records label.

No, Ringo played it. Unless Ringo lied in the antholog book. My parents don't know what happened to their record collection. They don't ever listen to records and I found some and a record player, but my mom said that they had much more but didn't know what happened to them.

Yes, Ringo did play the drum solo on The End, but reluctantly, since the other three thought it would make the song better. The big drumming feud was during the recording of the White Album, specifically Back In The USSR.

That's so **** awsome. I wish our school's language program wasn't so lame. I also with that I took Independent Study Japanese, Danish or Italian instead of IS Latin :upset:
I will die if I don't go to a good language college

My school has a pretty extensive language program. It's exciting. But, I don't really intend to continue studying Japanese in college. Unless I need to for credits, that is. I'd rather focus on music and the humanities. And math. Mmm math.

I got Spanish, Latin, and French. All the foreign language teacher's at my school suck except one of the Latin teachers, who I have. She's awesome. But my Spanish teacher is a real bitch. She tried to give me detention for wearing a hat. Bitch.
I listened to Revolver and Help at school today. Help is so underrated. You've Got To Hide Your Love Away is so awesome.

That's too bad. I love math.
I never thought of that, but I could sort of see it working. The Lady Madonna thing, that is.
Didn't Sublime do "Lady Madonna", it kind of had a different twist on it. More hip-hop rockish feel.

I've got a Limited Edition Australian Tour record from when the Beatles toured in 1964, but its had better days. It was originally a double disc set but one got misplaced decades ago. It belonged to someone else in the family and got passed down. I took it to get valued and it came in at $100, not too bad considering.

It's on one of the Past Masters CDs. It was originally just the b-side to the day tripper single.

Hard to imagine We Can Work it Out being a B-side. Then again it's hard to imagine most Beatles songs being just a B-side.

I was in AP Calc, but I hated it and there was so much homework, so I e-mailed my top colleges to ask them which looks better, Calc or Stats, and to my surprise they said that they look at them equally. So I hightailed it to AP Stats, and I use the time from my Calc homework to do other things. I think I will join jazz Band with all fo my extra time :D
I tortured myself over trying to choose between Calc and Stats though

I'm working on harmonica. Harmonica > Calc :)
I haven't played trombone in three years, but there are only two trobonists, I'm a senior, and the new music teacher was my teacher in grade school. It's awsome because usually you have to be in band to be in jazz band, and every instrument (minus trombone) has at least 4 people trying to get a spot because Jazz band always goes to England/FL/CA. Heh. :D
I can't wait to see Paul :D

I wish my school had a jazz band. My old one did and I was thinking of playing piano in it to brush up on it..BUT OF COURSE some crazy asian chick already had it and could play a thousand times better..
And they already had like 839489384923842 guitarists so I just said **** it. I regret it now.
Man do I suck at guitar and piano.. I need to start practicing harder.
