WTF? Explain the Halo storyline for me...

Hmmm, I'm confused now:

a) Its like Humans vs Convenant vs Flood + Sentinels + Oracle?
b) In the original, did it all take place on the ring or the planet below it? I always thought it took place on the planet, but I guess I'm wrong?
c) What happened during 343 Guilty Spark? I think I fell asleep due to the lameness of that level...
d) Basically just bring me up to speed on what's happened so far. I'm on the fourth level of Halo 2 and very confused right now. Explain more about 343 and stuff, because that's hurting my brain.

It all took place on the halo ring halo one, on the inside of the ring theres an artificial enviorment, as cortoner says on one of the levels.

And the others i cant remember/too lazy to remember.

C) Skipped all that.
D) I forget what mission that is, and i really didnt get the story, but basiclly you land on the second halo and then go to the control room, to try and blow it up like the first Halo.
E) The game sucks compared to Halo 1.
F) I think halo 3 will be fought on earth by the high cheif protecting it by the flood, and you will also play as the Convenant trying to blow up the nine remaining halo's or what ever.

Im pretty confused about it all myself, when i passed it i let my friend do all the thinking and i just killed stuff, but thats what i thinks going on.
